  1. If it’s TDI then car staying on after switching off is normal ”feature” on Diesel Octavias, it’s regenerating DPF.
  2. If you change belt sametime with pump there’s no much cost added, because they’re next to each other*.. So most expenses come from labor. *If i remember right there’s few engines that has waterpump away from cam belt, so ”no need” to change sametime etc, but usually when waterpump is changed it’s recommend to change cam belt too.
  3. Waterpump+timing belt change interval is kinda near then, because almost 5 years old car. Is it 5 or 6 years on your car? My ex Octavia 1,4 TSI had 5 years / 210,000km and current Octavia 1,6 TDI have 6 years / 210,000km
  4. Waterpump. Mine did same 2018 fall once and 2019 summer 3 times then failed totally at fall (had to be towed to dealer). Could also be thermostat failurue.
  5. Without seeing car it looks nice and price is not that bad. I would get 4x4 version, because it’s enjoyable during winter (even with all season tyres 😉), but if RS is must and under 20k€ then it may not been option 😕
  6. Fyi: I think that car entertainment does not support Finnish, if that’s important to you.
  7. It seems to be serviced in time, even earlier than needed. I’m assuming that service interval is 30k/1 year. 2019-03-18 172582 km 2018-04-16 149951 km 2017-10-06 128845 km 2017-01-30 100113 km 2016-06-16 74571 km 2015-11-02 51053 km 2015-02-26 25272 km 2014-12-19 18281 km 2014-07-18 4km
  8. I think i found car you’re looking, is it white color and located in Espoo?
  9. Is waterpump and timing belt changed already? If not change interval is reached in 20,000km (my waterpump failed at 170k)... Replacing waterpump and timing belt cost me 700€ (Finland).. If not changed i would try bargain that change cost from car price or change before buying for free etc.
  10. I usually keep mine around 17-18C during summer (20C feels too warm for me at summer) and when it’s really really hot i set to LO so it gets cold then raise to 16,5-17C
  11. Skoda - Simply Clever.. almost I have problems with MySkoda app after every update, now it works but really laggy.
  12. Bottom hinges then just push it.. Probably pressing sides will help. I have not figured easier way to do that, so i dont take responsibility if you break something 😬
  13. I have used brute force always.. Maybe it’s not proper way but worked at least 10+ times
  14. You have KESSY (Keyless Entry, Start and exit SYstem)? Did you change battery on second key too? KESSY will drain battery even if you’re not using your spare key.
  15. 0435 I think it feels bit faster, nothing else changed
  16. Update completed, everything works and only took 17 minutes
  17. Thanks mate, i’ll check out that later today ✌️
  18. What is newest version number? Any new features etc? I would be intrested on update file too
  19. They change oil too on that? If yes i would say it sound reasonable
  20. Black smoke can appear when car is burning too much fuel, but if it’s not appearing always and when accelerating i think it’s ok. Light or thin white exhaust smoke is ”normal” which i get usually when i cold start my 1,6TDI during winter.
  21. Have you reseted fault codes after battery change? Did you code your new battery to car electronic systems?
  22. Have you checked exhaust system for leaks? What color smoke it was? Some smoke is ok with cold engine and cold weathers, but if it’s huge smoke cloud it’s not ok.
  23. Hi, welcome to forums! There’s thread related to car staying on after switched off, smells like burning etc. Diesel car’s dont like short driving, it needs longer motorway driving, so DPF can do it’s job. Maybe owner before you used to drive in city only etc. I would buy some DPF Clean liquid that goes inside fuel tank (it will help start DPF regeneration) and then drive at motorway one gear lower than usual around 20-30km (12-18miles) so DPF could do regeneration properly
  24. Hi everybody! This is my Skoda Octavia MY15 1,6 TDI 4x4. I bought it 1,5 years ago with around 100.000km and now february 2020 it has over 180.000km driven! Before this one i had MY14 1,4 TSI DSG. Can’t really complain too much, it’s enjoyable car to drive even during winter.. I’m driving with all season tyres at winter, but 4x4 makes it so good and fun.. Better than front wheel drive car with studded tyres, in most cases (In my opinion) Only thing i complain is oil usage, i need to add 1 liters every 5000-7000km, but it’s ok if stays like that.. I created this thread, because i have several things on my to-do list, so maybe publishing them will help me getting them done DONE; -Changed shift boot to one with red stiching -Octavia door sill covers -Few strobe lights in front bumper -Emblems removed from boot TO-DO; -Auxiliary backup lights -Auxiliary light in front bumper -More strobe lights in front bumper -Strobe lights side/behind car -Tint windows -Defa Multicharger 1210, so battery is being charged when car is plugged in wall -LED backup lights -LED register plate lights -LED interior lights -Dashcam (hardwired) -Backup camera -VCDS Tweaks -Entertainment system upgrade -More power! If there’s anything else i should add to my to-do list feel free to suggest Here’s few pictures, car is currently bit dirty, sorry about that 😞
