  1. I could post up the wheels for you on Saab Central as I have to admit to being an active member . If you give me the price you want etc if any one bites i will direct them to you.
  2. They look like the 93 Viggen alloys from the previos model 93. Try www.saabcentral.com if you want to flog them into the saab hertland.
  3. I had all four replaced when the car had its second service as two had failed earlier in the year so they replaeced the remaining two. In september last year (4 months after the service) two packs failed on me simultaneously, boy that realy felt wierd. Managed to get to the Skoda dealer (about 13 miles away) trying to coast most of the way where they put two new one in and all fixed. There seems to still be problems with even the "new" type packs.
  4. What is it with me and coil packs  I have had 7 replacements since 2003 when the first one blew big time. All were replaced with the new spec part, but today i was joining the A10 at Ware and was typically coming down the on ramp at re-entry speed when all power just went. I knew pretty much immediately that I was 2 cyliders down but still with turbo boost :( . All sorted now, 2 and 4 had gone pop. Its always a relief that it isnt something serious going wrong.
  5. 0-60 with a perfomance meter thing (uses accelerometers and gps) and a heavy passenger average 6.6. 0 -100 didnt do it. Went up against a 04 leon cupra r in a stright line of a roundabout and it was a level run, nothing in it. so it would be about the same 0-100 as one of them.
  6. Ill second that, my car turns me into a complete child with an inverted snobbery problem
  7. Snowing here in North Hertforshire, just got coverd in it :(
  8. Thats exactly what i was going to ask you. All I found were complete crap, guess that shows how good this one is I was advised by my local saab dealer that modification was possible without affecting warranty as long as i used a dealer that supplied saab tuning options - he poited me towards reading saab to get ant works done. Be interested to see what the 1.9 tid 150 will chip to, the aero should be good for at least 240bhp with a remap.
  9. Went for Laser Red, would of had black but my last two cars have been black and i vowed never again the first itme round :P - cant commit to cleaning the thing more than once a week so Red it was  hopefully the wheels will be easier to clean.
  10. I have a new 9-3 Vector Sport on its way for December. The spec is actually better on comfort extras than the range topper Aero - it comes with the stereo upgrade, parking sensors and the one touch windows as standard. I would of liked the Aero but wanted Diesel so orderd the range topping Diesel which is the 150 bhp vector sport, added the 13 speaker upgrade / sports chassis and aero body kit. I had a loan 9-3 diesel in the same spec and i agree the skoda is way better VFM, the saab was way slower than my mapped octy and sometimes I wonder why im changing - hence im probubly going to keep the vRS as well The SAAB is really well screwed together and the materials are classy, the Aero is a good choice. I will just have to tune the diesel
  11. I recently upgraded to a Sony-Ericson K700i on Vodaphone. The phone is customised from an unbranded handset to utilise voda live and has various Voda only settings, the worst being a lockdown on using your own mp3 files as rintones All the other networks allow MP3 etc so im not impressed Vodaphone promissed a firmware upgrade will beavalible soon to fix it but I want to unbrand the handset entirelly. Has anyone done it? I have a syncstation DSS 25 and have seen a few online companies that offer the firmware download but they are either offline or dont respond to emal. Any advice appreciated
  12. My buddy has a CTR, we had a play and in a straight line my octy had the edge low down the rev range then, obviosly, the advantage i gained was eaten up. Up to 120mph in private track conditions i only managed an average of a third of a car length on him from standtill but i would say it was equal all things considerd. When on the boil the CTR goes like stink. My octy is mapped by the way.
  13. with my gps pda and snooper stuck to the windscreen I have succsefully reduced the number of speeding motorists in the hertforshire area wich is highly amusing (for me)
  14. The oem changer looks identical to a Panasonic one i used to have  I havent had a look at the connectors though.
  15. I am tempted, i have a new Saab on its way but its no vRS. The octy would be a "toy" to fettle and keep for weekend blats.
  16. The time is nearly upon me to bid farewell to my beloved Octy vRS. The lease expires early December so I asked for the price to purchase the car from the lease company. Its a Black Magic 51 plate (3yrs old in december) with 46k miles. Unmarked interior, only one alloy has a small scuff to the lip, all tyres are excellent. Apart from the usual stone chips and one small door swing dent on the rear quarter the exterior is in excellent condition. It is Jabba'd and I have the benefit of knowing its been loved ( i had it from new) They have qouted me
  17. How easy did you find it to get it back on? I tool mine off the stop it noise and lost my temper (much to my neigbours amusement) trying to get it to fit back on properly
  18. 1) Wrighty RS 2) Mrs Spinndrift 3) ColinD 4) Jimmy 5) Sideways 6) Steve vRS 7) Joel 8) SkodiRS 9) vRS_2003 10) Wilsonan 11) Stathap 12) JaneC 13) Lespaul 14) Freakcrab 15) Gibbo 16) Ventmore 17) daver 18) fudpucker 19) RobClubley 20) LloydVrs
  19. The grills just pop of with gentle pressure. One of mine blew up when i tried to get it back on  it was really brittle for some reason.
  20. I have, after a long selection process, orderd a new Saab 1.9 TiD Vector sport. I was loaned one for a day from the local dealer so took the opportunity to see how well it performed. Using a freinds performance meter (measures with accelorometers i think) we did some 0-60 sprints in the Saab, which has only 430 miles on the clock. We managed a best time of 9 secs which is what I expected. We did the same in my Octy and got a best time of 6.8 secs which, although expecting it, was chuffed with The octys brakes were significantly better and the Saab's handing was not as sharp. As you would expect the Saab interior is better quality (and so it should be @ 23k), and beleive it or not the Octy ice is better than the standard 7 speaker Saab setup  Still, i wanted to move to a diesel car for tax and economy reasons and the Saab was my favorite (would of had a Fabia vRS if space wasnt an issue) so i orderd one with a sport chassis upgrade and the 13 speaker 300 watt setup. I am now seeking a good price from the lease company to buy the octy for a toy. Its so bloody good i cant bear to see it go
  21. Im sure it does  i will have to go out and try it now there is a seed of doubt in my mind.
  22. Any how - back on topic: Anyone worked out the power to weight ratio on a chiped fabia (lets say 180bhp) and a standard octy?
  23. My 01 Octy vRS hits 115 in third also. 3rd gear is fantastic - just goes and goes.
