I had a health inspection check done by the dealership, and they found that the front and rear brake discs and pads need replacing. I'm considering purchasing the discs and pads myself and having them installed by a local garage to save some money while still getting branded parts. When I search for parts using my registration "SP17 SVU" on Eurocarparts, I come across multiple options. Would anyone be kind enough to provide advice on which brake discs and pads offer the best quality and price for my 2017 Octavia? I'm a bit confused with dimensions and brands. I don't do more than 5000miles a year, so it could be the reason why the discs are quioity rusty.

Due to a DIY accident I have had a cast in my right arm for the last 10 days, so the car has been parked since then. This morning I found a deep scratch, approximately 6 inches long. The car was perfectly parked and didn't bother anyone. I went to a few paint shops and they suggested to repaint the door. One of the shops gave me the option of touching it up. It made very clear that the paint line will be visable. Paint door - £170 - £300 Touch-up - £30 Do you think the whole door has to be painted? What do you think about the prices? Thank you

Thank you very much. I started with the 1.5 TSI as my favourite for twinter pacck, but after reading all your comments I understood that the 1.4 TSI was was the right choice for me. During the drive test I tried to change gears "manually" and it was really tricky because I couldn't hear the engine much. My previous one was an old Seat 1.9 TDI.

I'm getting an Octavia with this display next week. Can anybody tell me if it needs a software update and how to do it? If so, is there any major difference in or extra options in the latest update? Not sure if it helps, on the specs I got: Columbus satellite navigation system - SmartLink - Colour multifunction trip computer - Data storage device for EU, integrated - Navigation system - High - Radio High (China)

CAR 1 won. I paid 1£2,300 Being 1,000 pounds cheaper, approved Skoda and local made me decide. The winter pack on the other car will be very much missed, but it is not worth the risk dealing with Arnold Clark and 1,5 hours journey, plus 1K on top. I went to see the approved car today and had a few light scratches here and there, two of the alloys need to be restored and a few minor details. In theory it will be done before I get the car. I just want to say once again, thank you very much. You guys help a lot and now I know it is the right car for me.

Can I ask the dealer for the full service history? What type of service should be done before I buy an Skoda Approved Used Car? The car will be 3 years old in March.

I wish I had this option. Unfortunately I can't see any other Octavia SE L with Heated windscreen, only the one from Arnold Clark.

Why would you go for car 2? Factoring Arnold Clark reputation, would you still go for car 2?

Today I have seen two 20I7 SE L Octavias. The first one is a 1.4 TSI, The second one 1.5TSI. The screens look different. Can anybody tell me if there is any difference in between them, and if one is better than the other. Thank you

I have a BMAX at work with heated windscreen and can take 15mins before it clears the ice in a cold morning. In regards to LED rear lights, how do they look? A photo would be handy How can I know if the camera is a lowline or highline camera? just for the video quality. Thanks again for all your help.
