  1. If only I had thought of that at the beginning! I thought I had by fitting the Osram LED's, and when they didn't work trying the Twenty20 canbus specific version. After driving around today (on essential journeys, obviously) I'm a lot more comfortable driving around with the halogen indicator bulbs, especially with the 'Convenience'setting now operating as it should I would be more disappointed if I had to remove the DRL LED's. Anyway, thanks all.
  2. I'm pleased to hear the police in your respective areas are being pro-active. Unfortunately, that is far from the case where I reside.
  3. How is what the police are doing in your area relevant to where I am? The mask issue I will concede I was wrong on. The Scottish government advocated the use of masks, but did not make it compulsory.
  4. This turned up on my YouTube timeline today. Apparently, AliExpress products are of such an acceptable standard and quality that some people/companies feel they can get away with reselling it at 10 times or more of it's original price! I wonder how many of these people are quite happily walking about with a No Label watch on their wrists would not be caught dead in possession of anything from AliExpress?
  5. Out walking the dogs today and road traffic levels are as near as dammit back to pre-lockdown levels. Yesterday the usual suspects were out and about on their ramblers for several hours. No sign of CivPol, no doubt shacked up keeping their thumbs warm. During lockdown there are usually 5 vehicles parked up outside the station. In over 7 weeks of lockdown I've only seen one footbeat, and zero mobile patrols. Went to our local Lidl today (not the one we normally go to, only went as they had masks and handgel in stock) and no enforcement of Social Distancing whatsoever, families, let alone couples, allowed to walk around, no masks. We went to our usual Lidl for our Weekly shop on Friday night; security guy on the door enforcing SD guidelines; no families or couples, masks to be worn. Hence why we use this one and not our local. However, the staff there are threaders due to incidents involving people contesting their rules. I think we're going to get our arses kicked around December and January....
  6. You've stated your ears are screwed, you don't by any chance wear a hearing aid? My dad's hearing aid makes loud noises down the phone. He can't hear it BBF everyone else can, especially the person on the other end of the phone! I know you stated the noise appears to come from the dash area, but I have a rattle that to me sounds like it's coming from the dash area, but I've actually traced it to the dash cam wiring in the roof lining.
  7. I think I may have confused myself! When I bought my car there was a lot of misfuelling stories in the press at the time. I bought one of these in Halfords for about £20. The fuel cap stays attached to the device, so there is no need to place it on the fuel flap and you have to remove the cord anyway. It was in regular use for nearly 10 years right up until I sold the car. The only thing I did was place a folded up paper towel on the ledge of the fuel flap area to catch any drips. No one seems to sell them now, but if you're interested there is one currently under bidding on eBay at £1.27…
  8. I removed the rubber/pladtic attachment so that if I ever dropped it, it would reduce the chances of it hitting the bodywork. I placed the fuel cap on the fuel flap as per the manual. This image is from a Google search:
  9. Our usual Amazon driver stated they are so busy he now doesn't even load his own van. He turns up in the morning and the thing is rammed full ready for him to just get out. It's becoming more common for him not to finish until nearly 2200. The Hermes guy knocks on the door, leaves the delivery on the step before walking down the path and stands waiting at the gate. I either shout down to him as I'm coming down from upstairs or give him the thumbs up from the window before he leaves. Usual Postie states they are having their shifts staggered so only half are in at a time. My main First World Problem with all these deliveries is trying to fit all the packaging into the monthly recycle bin. My outside cludgie is full of large boxes waiting on the recycling centre re-opening.
  10. Hopefully the final update on this. Something I did not take into account was the hyperflashing affecting the duration of the one touch 3 second indicator flash whilst changing lanes was over and done with in less than a second. I use that feature a lot. They're getting hoyed tomorrow and I'll exchange them for a spare bulb kit and a few odds'n'sods. Every day is a school day....
  11. For seat back protection and handy for the odd occasions you're just stopping off for a coffee and a snack, I have something similar to this attached to the back of my front passengers seat.
  12. As regards to the ceramic coating. Have a look on Detailing World for reviews of this and various other products you could use. If you are not into deep cleaning your car you could always pay a professional to do it once a year, leaving you to do a monthly wash, or as we're approaching the summer months, run a hose over your vehicle to remove pollen and dust. Rather than getting a ceramic coating, you could always get. the vehicle wrapped.
  13. My home is about 130 years old, and would appear to have been chopped and changed many times over that period. To the point I have the main cables for both my neighbors next to my fuse panel. The sub contractor Smart Meter installer took one look and said, "Nope, I'm only Tier(?) 1 compliant, you need a Tier 3" and off he went. Tier 3 compliant Smart Meter installer turns up. Removed what he had to. Installed what he had to. Made a few comments that I'll likely need to update or upgrade in the future, but as is all is fine. And off he jolly well left. That was last year, and I've had no issues. And more importantly I've had no one coming around at Stupid O'clock in the morning or evening asking to read my meter! HTH FALS
