Sandgroper started following Injector seals? , Door locks!!! , Battery charging advice and 4 others

My drivers door has started to decide not to unlock occasionally! The key fob locks the doors OK but the driver's door sometimes refuses to unlock. Anybody have any ideas or solutions?
-
And it makes sense if it protects the S/S battery, but why does the Skoda advice have to cover both options!! Just trying to be open I guess but having had a battery blow up in my face I was unsure!! Thank God for wearing specs!!! Anyway, many thanks!!

Merci beaucoup!!! Mon ami!!!! That makes sense, just don't want to wreck anything!!!

Trying to charge up my sisters newly acquired Fabia but she doesn't know if it has 'stop/start. I realise that if it has s/s then I have to connect the negative earth to the chassis earth point. If I do that and it doesn't have a s/s will it still charge the battery? My simple electrical knowledge says it should but can anyone advise please?

My sister is about to buy a 2013 Fabia 1.2 litre petrol car. Does this engine have a belt that requires replacement?
-
I have been asked to advise my 80 year old sister regarding changing her car! Her Mazda 3 (2015) is rather bulky and a tight fit in her garage. As Skoda Superb owner I have looked at the Fabia or the Citigo as possible options. Cash is tight and I would looking to cash in the Mazda (quoted at £6300) with minimal addition. I sense that there was a Fabia model change around 2014 but have spotted a low mileage Fabia SE Euro 2 for sale for around £6500. Low mileage Citigos are similarly priced from my searches to date. Question is are there any real bad options here, how basic are the Citigo models? What are the good and bad points regarding engine options? I am a traditionalist I guess but are the three cylinder versions OK?

My car is a 2litre diesel (150), I've not had it from new, it was an ex-motability car, but it has 22,500 miles on the clock! On the face of it, it could wait a while I guess, only lightly used but it takes a wheelchair easily!

Waiting for my (successful) MOT I overheard a comment to another customer that 'all VW diesels require a new timing belt at 4years or 140,000miles.' The price quoted was 'about £600 because they automatically change the water pump as it has to be removed anyway!' Due to Covid and other family issues my 2017 Superb 3 has a ridiculously low mileage but if they deteriorate over years I will get it done. Is this general VW coverage well known?

You can only see the switch when the hatch is open!
-
Yes, the actual push switch! But everything seems to be OK. Funny that the Aussie switches, doors etc show red, mine show white open or closed!!!
-
The switch on the hatch has an illuminated symbol of a car with the boot open. This has a bulb within the switch which illuminates the symbol. This has always been a simple white but is now showing red. The boot /hatch works fine but the change of colour was noticeable. There is nothing in the Manual about it, or how to change the bulb if needed!

I have noticed that my electrically operated rear hatch door switch symbol is showing in red rather than the normal white, Any suggestions?
-
Thanks for that, appreciated!

A relative has had problems with his Hyundai i800 injector seals. It caused a major engine blow up!!! Has anyone had problems with Skoda seals?
