Thanks for the response JackySi. Perhaps it's something I would look into in the future, when the car is out of warranty. I was hoping it might be a "add sub, replace amp under seat and code in Canton" type of upgrade. If it requires different door panels and extensive wiring I might just stick with the stock system. It's not terrible, but I came from a full custom install in my old car.

Not to bump a very old thread, but has anyone had success either retrofitting the Canton System or adding aftermarket speakers (or sub) to the stock system? I got mine second hand and it didnt have the Canton system pack when bought. The stock system is fine, but just want a little more from it.

Yeah, i knew that when i bought it. For that model year, it was a $5400 option, and apparently not a lot of people took it (on a ~$40,000 car it was a bit of an ask). So finding a second hand one with all of that was almost impossible, at least for a decent price. I got this one for $22,000 which was around $10k cheaper than any other car i had seen. So i jumped on it. Im coming from a 2001 Honda Prelude with no tech what-so-ever so i dont feel like im missing anything. Except my Prelude had a custom sound system, so thats the only downgrade.

After a long time of searching i finally found a mint looking, used 2017 Skoda Superb 162TSI Wagon. Picked it up last weekend and loving it so far. Only down side is it doesnt have Canton speakers, but i can live with that.
