  1. Hi guys, Wondering if anyone knows if the bumper needs to come off to remove the upper front grill? Mines gone abit pants, want to freshen up the front end Much appreciated
  2. There is a button which I believe is an arrow with a N on it to point you in the direction of travel which is what you want.
  3. I had a go at changing the motor over the weekend, believe me its by no means a clean and tidy job, but the headlight is water tight and i have no errors on the dash. I did take some photos but having trouble uploading them as they are way too big. Its do able and saved me £350 plus on a new headlight, but you have to be prepared to take the risk of screwing up a head light. Glad i undertook it, just for the reason of no errors. It never caused an issue with the functionality while driving, so i could probably have lived without it. I might keep an eye on a light on ebay if one comes up cheap might just do the change, because the surgery is not pretty lol
  4. Ok got it sorted, didnt even need the update. The feature had to be enabled through VCDS which took all of 1 minute, I wish i just went down that route first
  5. Apologies looks like i have posted the same issue again. Thought my original post failed as i couldn't see it
  6. Hi guys, Done the update to firmware last night which went all fine, now running version 1433. However the issue of the telephone button on the steering wheel not working hasn't been solved. People have been in the same boat as me and done the update and it started working so I am abit confused as to why mine isn't. Hoping someone can shed some light on it. Appreciate your thoughts. Hope everyone & your families are doing well
  7. Hi guys, So last night loaded up a SD card and successfully updated my firmware to 1433, thanks to @pab567 for all the help ⭐ I was hoping that this would cure the telephone button on the steering wheel issue i was having, as it worked for others with the same issue. Which unfortunately it hasn't....Does anyone know why and how i can get it working? I know its completely liveable without it, but I'm really OCD about stuff working properly. Thanks in advance
  8. @CajoLajo which file did you use? I tried one from i found online. But the sd card was not being recognised for some reason. Formatted to FAT32 aswell so am thinking it couldn't have been the right one
  9. Got mine off eBay. Along with a boot floor as i have an estate, all genuine. And as for the site not secure, its all good my end i don't get it. Maybe your firewall doesnt like it.
  10. Bloody hell! Sorry to hear that, hope it gets sorted asap. Happened to me a few years back, but not with such a sweet motor. Luckily the guy was honest and left a note.
  11. Has anyone tried any of the updates in this post on a MIB2?
  12. Ye totally get your point, no 1 wants a bricked unit, especially as its pretty much always in use when I'm driving. The car is out of warranty, so i know I'm on my own with this, however the way i look at it anything can be bricked or become faulty. It's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes unfortunately. Second hand content unlocked units are around £4-500 so worst case I could just go down that route, if things go wrong. I have a track record of this kind of stuff unfortunately, I had a MK7.5 before the VRs, and it didn't come with the Dynaudio speaker upgrade. I done that my self, and believe me there was a lot of cutting wires and the such to get the loom required to fit with the existing loom. I know the risks of this kind of stuff failing, but life would be boring if we didn't take risk's hey! I think if you go in to this kind of stuff un aware of the risks then thats when it hurts!
  13. Thanks @CajoLajo this has helped me. I am glad to hear we were on the same version and doing an upgrade has solved the telephone issue. Im going to try find a MIB2 firmware update over the weekend. Lets see what happens
  14. Thanks @CajoLajo I have had a read of your thread, however the issue is my dealer not recognising it as a fault, and thus saying it does not need one. His reason is that apparently it doesn't have the option, which is complete Bull as you have proved in your thread. Now I have discovered that my unit is MIB2, I need to find the the relevant MIB2 update. The search continues! Again happy to offer someone some money for a MIB2 firmware update for the Columbus
  15. Ah ok cool. So my dealer is swerving doing the update then. He said that it doesn't come with that option which is completely untrue. But he wasn't willing to accept. So i have decided to sort it out myself and then embarrass him at the next service
  16. Hmmm i see what you mean, its really annoying because im in Software myself and in my world its literally a couple of clicks and your done!
  17. I dont get why they just don't update it when theres an update. Its the stupidest thing ivd ever heard.
  18. Its a 2015 with 90k. It is a worry but if you dont try you don't know. And worst case im only £35 out of pocket
  19. Cheers mate, i will do, i hate seeing errors on the dash!
  20. Thats annoying, could someone whos telephone button is working let me know what firmware version they are running? Attached is my firmware version. Now that Skoda say there is no update, which is obviously a bit of BS. Where can i get the updated firmware from. I am happy to pay someone who has it Much appreciated.
  21. Ok so got Skoda to look at the fault. As i expected they want me to fork out 600+£ for a new headlight. After looking in the workshop manual and a quick call to TPS i have got the required part coming to me tomorrow for £35 after discount. Will be installing over the weekend, so will send some pictures. Wish me luck !
  22. Hm thats a wierd one as i asked my Skoda dealer to update it, his reply was "No available update" as the website suggests. So Im in the process of downloading the Maps in the hope that sorts out my telephone button issue. @Gabbo what version of the firmware are you running, just so i can see if i am out of date or not? Thanks
  23. Hi guys, When entering my VIN on https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/, I only get map updates. Was hoping to see a firmware update, but I just see There were no software updates for the VIN. Does anyone know the latest version ? And where can I get it from, because I have a feeling I am out of date as the telephone button on the steering wheel doesn't work and have read a firmware update solves it. Thanks in advance
