locksmith picked the lock in 2 mins..no questions asked.

thanks guys.. esp.the suggestion of breaking a window !! however a local car locksmiths have sorted it by just picking the lock with a tool,£50. Makes you realise even deadlocked how insecure your car is ! I have now in the meantime ordered a spare key.

Hi..I too have a 1.2 TSI petrol cam chain. Do you know when or if the chain needs replacing? I cant see anything in the hand book and there is no service booklet like there used to be. saying which parts are replaced at certain mileage. Have had the car from new with no issues, it's a 2014 with 105000 miles. Cheers.

I was going have Eibachs fitted but if it causes tyre wear I'll not bother.. why would lower springs cause tyre wear?

I've been thinking about fitting Eibach lowering springs but if that causes increased tyre wear ( I do 20K miles a year!) I'm not sure I will now?

non res sounds better outside but the drone inside the car is terrible in my experience..I had a miltek fitted to a vRS Octy but had to have the box put back as the drone in the car esp when when motorway driving was terrible!

I wondered the improvement in performance was significantly better (Shark say 125bhp for the 105) but is there extra strain being put on components,such as gearbox clutch and turbo? If these are the same as in the 1.4 125bhp engine then it should be fine,

Are there significant improvements to the cars performance but any signs of over wearing any engine components due to the remap

Just had a 40K service by my local garage(not dealer) on my 2 year old Rapid and all is great for £146 inc,vat. All filters changed, brakes inspected/adjusted.. really has made a big difference to performance and fuel economy and half the price my dealer wanted ! The Timing chain according to Skoda has a life guarantee, never needs changing!!

the tyre pressure warning light has regularly illuminated on my car even when the tyres are all Ok after checking !

My Rapid 1.2 TSI will be due for a 40k service soon. The Dealers quoted £299 fixed price but like Tom_vRS I don't know what is done at 40K? Anyone know when the cam belt or is it a chain(?) is changed?

just needs a VRS style duel exit exhaust now!

it was written in the script of Happy Valley as a joke/ironic comment..highlighting how stupid the character is even when it comes to cars!...and we all know BMW drivers often have laws of their own!!

So lets assume a 'Passat Bluemotion' or 'Octavia Greenline' for example should be in a higher tax band than they actually are for emissions, how would anyone know in order to charge more for tax and a 2.0 Vauxhall Insignia for example has the same-ish emissions which means GM must be doing the same fiddling of emission tests. I cant believe a VAG group vehicle is any more polluting than a Vauxhall or a Ford within the same class of vehicle.

Hi Nels. I've done 25K in just over a year now from new, mostly motorway driving in my 1.2 Rapid Sport and have tried Super Unleaded but flooring the pedal does not seem make any difference ...apart from more costing more ££'s to fill up !

Hi Chris, have you noticed any difference with 'Super' I thought I did when I tried it with Tesco 99 Ron, filled it from empty (well 5 miles range!) and I thought there was an improvement but I'm now I'm not sure and have just had a 20K service which again seems to have made a big difference to the torque ! I was seriously thinking of a Shark Re-map but now the engine does feel stronger I'm happy with it and £399 is a fair bit to find for a re-map. Cheers.
