  1. thanks dude, ditching it for something cheap and cheerful (****), I just need something practical that I dont care about these days, so I have bought (wait for it) a Renault Kangoo! The Mrs has the "good" car now, as she is doing way more miles. Was almost tempted into another new VRS exactly like your sig describes recently, but then decided I would rather spend the money elsewhere, maybe I will get along to a meet again too
  2. @Gobsheene Im still alive! I've resurfaced on here a bit recently, literally about to hand back my "normal" Octavia I had since the VRS, hope you are all well
  3. just to chime in here, having gone from my 2.0 TSI VRS at stage 2 (295hp, 330lbft) to a TDI 150 Elegance, my reason for doing so was a money saving excercise, as I had my fun and wanted to divert funds to other things, so the question is really, do you want to save money or keep driving a performance car? personally, I dont miss it that much as I had begun to realise I was really only using the car to drive to work and back and chances to enjoy the performance were few and far between.
  4. Up for sale: OEM lockable roof bars, complete with torque wrench and keys, also have the manual here somewhere if I can find it! will fit both pre FL and FL Hatchback models need £90.00 POSTED ONO for these, payment via BT or PP Gift (or you cover fees). quick snap (excuse the water had to run in with them from the shed and its chucking it down) and fitted on my old VRS with Thule cycle carriers (not included)
  5. see if you can clear your old car first, then get a company one, no point keeping your old one really?
  6. thanks airscool, very helpful, I think you have convinced me to go the pfjones route now, going to text my independant for a quote for fitting/coding
  7. Interesting with conflicting info in the past few posts! I know an independent, who did all my coding in my mk2 vrs, is the vcds different for the mk3 or will his work ok?
  8. Dealers quote is £490 for the kit fitted, so you can see why the (apparently) same kit at £268 from pfjones is tempting, I wonder how much the dealer would charge to code it, perhaps I will give them a bell and see if I can haggle down a little
  9. just wondering if I can pick your brains guys, Ive done a search for info, but want to be sure before splashing out after Xmas! my car already has Towbar prep from factory, am I right in saying a car specific adapter kit is all I need (without cutting wires), to connect between car and towbar? Im only using it for a cycle carrier, which is 7 pin, and the adapter kit is 7 pin, so should be all good, but do I need to have the car coded? or is this done as part of TB prep? Is this pretty much the same kit as OEM? and has anyone fitted DIY? http://www.pfjones.co.uk/skoda-octavia-2013-on-detachable-tow-bar-317132.html thanks all, hope you can help. also if any of you have some pics that would be appreciated as I only found a few! EDIT: Car was received end of October, it was a stock car shipped over from Germany, so any idea where to check build date?
