Nobody could of anticipated what effect the crisis would have on our day to day lives at home and work, it still feels quite surreal and I hope that you have been able to stay safe 👍 I have timed things poorly with arranging long term mortgages before the base rate fell and investing in an car and not being able to go out and see customers. It saddens me but financial mistakes don't amount to much when I think of what some families are going through at the moment.

Good points and sounds like fun 😉I'm used to flexing the accelerator pedal normally but for the short term, I'm driving like my ol man while running the engine in. At around 50 miles I achieved 90mpg on the outward journey. Length of commute makes a big difference, but like I mentioned I was driving a bit too reserved for my comfort.

Good point there root RE fuel left in the pipe run, and very good MPGs indeed 👍 I'll hope the figures being the same are just pure coincidence lol

👍 Welcome Jeff, this is the info I searched for previously but couldn't find a definitive answer. I'd like to try and charge the battery during a pitstop, although I don't think much juice can be gained with an hours charge, but I think it will be interesting to see 🙂

The figures are what the car showed me on the driver status. I used a quarter of a tank, approximately 12.5 litres of fuel. The outward journey hardly moved the fuel guage, but the return journey was a different story.

There are lots of conflicting reviews regarding Skoda claimed MPG figures and what it's like in the real world. I felt confused and wasn't a 100% sure I would see a good MPG with the battery flat on a relatively long return journey. This is the reason I thought some stats from my first descent run would be interesting for prospective buyers. 116 miles with a 95% full charge from beginning I managed 62.8 mpg. Lots of traffic and an early morning start. The return Journey was 109 miles with a 1% percent battery and after initially feeling a little anxious, I returned 55.4 mpg, which is far better than I expected. Clearly, everyone's driving style is different and I drove conservatively about 65mph on the motorways in the ECO setting on the driving mode selection. The car automatically switched to electric only when close to the destination and used what charge there was stored to help maximise the efficiency. The car uses the navigation route calculation to workout when to kick in the battery, innovative thinking from the German engineers. The verdict is you can achieve a good MPG on a flat battery when driving longer distances. This is because the combustion engine is continuously charging the battery through out the motorway stints. How does the above compare with the economical diesel versions of the superb? My colleague drives a Passat that is a few years old and the quoted MPG is 50. I wonder if this figure is close to a typical driver's experience..

Very nice, I have mixed feelings about the days I drove a fast car. Was great experience but my GTI-R was too unreliable and cost a small fortune to keep resurrecting. For the money I spent I could of bought a new car, but at the time all I cared about was having the fastest car I could afford!

I understand now. Give with one hand and take with the other. Normal government policies.. I hear the fuel duty cap will be scrapped, which is bad news for those that claim mileage. Will be interested to see what comes from it.

Far as I know the Superb IV is essentially a GTE underneath with the same engine and chassis. From the reviews I think the drive is better and interior more refined on the GTE. I'm surprised the VED is high on what is supposed to be an economical hybrid!?

Alright chaps, had a look again today and whilst waiting for the car to think about a software download, I got bored and looked through the settings on the navigation screen. Turns out the line I thought was an inactive TSR (traffic signs), was active and the box wasn't checked to enable the signs on my navigation screen 😑. Simply a schoolboy error in the end. Mick, I don't have a clue regarding your situation I'm afraid mate, but I agree it would be a good idea to get an update if you can 👍

If you have some time to spare I think the Octavia VRS plug in is going to be available in 2 litre engine. On a recent 95 mile journey I managed 69 mpg with a half charge from the dealership. However, on a small commute to work with no charge I got 19.8 mpg, which highlights the importance of having some🔋in the battery.

£5kish deposit, £300 pm, 6000 miles with a last of instalment of £12780 after 4 years. We plan to settle between 2 and 3 years and hopefully the Enyaq is available. The other options to choose from before purchasing were the MG ZS EV (not enough range), Mini Countryman PHEV and Hyundai Ioniq Plug in. Similar prices per month with the settlement figures ranging between 9k and 14k.

My boss used a site called UK car discount in the past, which is great if you can afford to buy a new car without finance. Thanks for looking into this and possibly helping other members of the Skoda community out. You're right, PHEV equals premium. As PHEVs go the Skoda is on the cheap side.. ouch

Let me clarify root, sorry for the confusion. The OTR price on the invoice is £31509. Skoda discounted the price further by £2250 via a deposit contribution. The list price including the two cost options is in excess of 35k. I wish I was in a position to buy the car outright, alas I signed up to a pcp deal and am paying 3.9% apr 🙄

It's an SE/L and comes with a nice spec as standard. The additional cost options were the quartz grey and rear view camera. £595 and £345 respectively.

Almost! It seems there maybe a charging cable missing. Apparently, the standard is a 3 pin plug charging cable, which comes with the car. The type 2 to type 2 cable, used for slightly faster charging is optional, but when I read the small print on my paperwork it said it should be included. So, I'm currently waiting to hear back from the dealer..

Hi All, purchased a Superb IV Hatch in Quartz Grey with a rear view Camera. With the deposit contribution I secured a price of £29259 inc VAT. Nearly 7 grand below the list price! I wonder if anyone can beat that? Don't get fleeced anyone! Negotiate hard.. 😉

My car (Superb PHEV) was in stock, not necessarily a long delivery depending on whether the stock available meets your expectations, I compromised a bit on the spec to qualify for a January sale discount. I believe the Octavia IV has not been released yet and clearly this would probably result in a long delivery.

Recently bought a car and told the navigation pack would show speed limits for the roads I am using, without needing TSR. I can't see any signs and wonder if I was misinformed or just being a noob and unable to find the setting. Your comments would be appreciated before I make contact with the dealer.. Thanks!
