  1. Hi pab567, I'm quite new to SKODA so I do not have any tools or backups. My local dealer is not very good and they are talking about replacing the brake module. I'm not so sure as they are the same mob that wanted my car for a morning so they could investigate how to retrieve my radio code. 😞
  2. Well, I'm learning about SKODAs that's for sure. My battery went flat and through a number of faults. The battery centre cleared most but got nervous about the ABS long code as it is reading 0000000 all the way. If I have the long code they are happy to use their tool to type it in. Which brings me to my questions. Is there anywhere I can get ABS long codes from? are they like radio codes that you can buy on eBay? Any help greatly appreciated.
  3. Great I was hoping it was something like that. I'm rotating the tires over the weekend so will check out the wiring at the same time.
  4. I had a tow bar fitted a few weeks ago, and I also banged the underside of the car a few times on a rocky road. Nothing happened. Then one day three warning lights came on at the same time, steering, traction, and ABS. then they went out after driving a 100 meters or so. This happened for a few days and then they decided to stay on. After a couple of short trips with them on the tire pressure light decided to join in the fun. now I have a dashboard that is quite colourful. What are people's thoughts, steering angle sensor, one of the wheels ABS sensors? how can I tell if it was a rock, the tow bar wiring, or just a coincidence. All this happened in lockdown so I've not been able to travel to my local independent mechanic. 😞
  5. @tuningmania awesome tip thank you. I thought it a bit unlikely that the standard power down, wait, power up would work, but it did. I didn't even have to re-enter the radio code I am sure there are a number of members here shaking their heads as I probably should have disconnected the battery before I swapped radios...
  6. Well it seemed like a good idea at the time. Take the working columbus radio out from the wife's 2012 Octavia, put it into my 2013 Superb. What could be simpler. The idea was that it would solve the issue I had with the unit not working when the ambient temperature was above 24C, which happens for most of the summer here. The wife's radio fitted fine, the proximity sensors beeped and the little car image told me which sensor was activated. Only problem, no media or maps as I needed the radio code. Tried the local dealer, no joy. Got a the radio code from eBay. the unit works all the buttons function, my iPod plugs in all good. Except no sound was coming out of the speakers! Checking through the functions, the sound balance now only has a single horizontal bar with left and right. I no longer have the image of the four seats and the ability to move the balance around the cabin. I checked before I swapped the radio over, there was definitely the four seats image while it was in the original car, but now it has gone, along with the sound. Any ideas about how to get the radio to work in my Superb?
  7. Hello, Well I have a very Australian problem. The head unit in my Skoda Superb Mk II 2015, shuts down when the cabin temperature hits the high 20s. If the aircon is use to cool the cabin, it will come back to life. Rather than try to isolate the problem I thought I would just replace the head unit. As my car only has the proximity sensors, not the cameras, I was wondering if I there was a way to upgrade to a newer Skoda head unit (if so which one), or do the after market head units accept proximity sensor inputs these days? My second question is: does anyone know If there is an inexpensive way to upgrade the head unit and the proximity sensors to cameras?
