  1. Hi. I'm looking to insure my Octavia MK2 diesel estate and I was wondering which companies other owners use. Specialists etc. Any advice is appreciated Thanks
  2. Hi. Can anyone recommend a good garage for changing a timing belt & other work etc. on an Octavia 1.6tdi in the Kent area. Not far from Dartford area. Thanks
  3. I'd agree there. Does anyone know of good places to look?
  4. Thanks. Yes it's good to be wary when looking for cars, and to do your research. Regular servicing and proof of it is definitely something to look for too
  5. Mine is currently approaching 153k, so I was looking for one with around 100k. That's a lot of miles but yes I understand if they have been serviced regularly then they should go on for many miles. Well done on the award 👍
  6. Thanks for the advice. It's just finding one with reasonable mileage
  7. Hi I am currently looking for another MK2 or MK3 Octavia 1.6 tdi estate in good condition and with lower mileage. I'm in Kent so if anyone has a good example of the above for sale then please let me know. Thanks
  8. Hi I have a 2011 Octavia 1.6 TDI and I've had mixed opinions on when I should next have the cam belt changed. It was last changed at 81800 miles in 09/20 (The water pump & auxiliary belt were also changed) The car is currently on 152,500 If anyone can offer any advice on the above it would be appreciated. Thanks

  10. Hi. I've had an 'Airbag Fault ' light come on today on an Octavia MK2 2011 Diesel estate and I was just wondering if anyone could offer any advice on what to check first? Thanks
  11. Hi Could anyone recommend a good obd 2 code reader that can be used for most diagnostics etc on a 2011 Octavia that won't break the bank? Thanks
  12. Thankyou. I did a code read today and it came up as to check glow plug circuit no. 4. I had a look at it tonight and found the lower part of the plug had broken off and brittle and I also spent quite a lot of time cleaning the muck from around the plug before trying to change it.
  13. Thanks again for the advice. I'll look into these I have another problem now unfortunately. The engine management light came I have another issue now as the engine management light came on today, the car still drives but I'm a bit worried about driving it over the weekend but I can't get it checked until Monday!
  14. Hi. Thanks for the reply. I've had 3 sets of discs & pads on the car and each set seem to go the same way in about 6 months or so. My best description of the symptoms is that the car pushes back & forth to different severities more noticeable downhill. The pads have been taken off and the ends cleaned along with the caliper pad slots & greased to see if it cures it but it hasn't.. and each time the discs & pads are changed it cures it. A mechanic also checked the car and suggested the brakes had got hot at some point to cause this and recommended fitting OEM discs. Even though I'd say that I drive quite conservatively.
  15. Hi. Could anyone recommend the best quality front and rear brake discs & pads for a Mk2 Octavia estate 1.6 TDI estate. I've been using Brembo which I would have thought would be good quality but the last two front sets have warped. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks
