Skoda felicia overheating problem
Mohamedelbana replied to Mohamedelbana's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanFinally after a year i solved this problem and im so thankful for you guys and your help and i hope somebody learns from what happened to me what i did was i contacted a radiator craftsman who made me a radiator with thin pipes which was 28*60 the (1.6 radiator)in diameter all aluminum with the same openings and mounting points before installing i did cooling system cleaning and flush installed the new radiator with the old fan but same results at highway speeds the car is fantastic with ac on and everything but at stop lights fan doesn’t shut off and engine keeps overheating even when ac off so i threw away the old noise hog fan and installed a double fan system and boy it’s different in every single aspect car doesn’t overheat any more fans kick on for 20-30 seconds at high speeds (the fan speed) and shut off in red lights you can barely hear it even at high at the highway fans don’t kick on at all and with ac its 90 all the time at the highway or red lights thank you all for your help and what were skoda thinking when they fitted that crapy cooling system?

Skoda felicia overheating problem
Mohamedelbana replied to Mohamedelbana's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanSo i installed the elantra fan its much much stronger but still have the same issue At high way speeds like 150 160 km/h the engine is cool even with ac is on any open road engine is great and no overheating But at the city its the same problem but it didn't get to redline its just a smidge over 90 then i get afraid and shut down the engine When i open the reservoir the water gets out Alot of it then i top it off and go stays some time at 90 then gets higher and repeat I think i have air in the system

Skoda felicia overheating problem
Mohamedelbana replied to Mohamedelbana's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanAs long as ac is on when the car or the ac condenser is cold the fan spins slowly Once it gets hot it spins really fast and never get colder but overheats pretty quickly But on the high way at a hot day and 140km\h it never overheats it gets cooler actually

Mohamedelbana replied to Mohamedelbana's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanAn update for you guys the radiator works fine on the highway very fine actually the fan doesn't kick in untill some time and in a hot day too but in the city not so great The fan is on the whole time even while im not moving the car is not overheating or anything but when i use the ac it goes up so i shut it off after 15 mins the car gets back to normal temps with original fan Long story short i think that confirms that the fan is weak and needs to be replaced any one knows a set of fans that i can install to my car? The dimensions are 280mm*500mm- Skoda felicia overheating problem
Mohamedelbana replied to Mohamedelbana's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanMy biggest issue was was the expansion tank and where the outlet of it will go Inside the footer was the same plastic divider of the radiator so i figured it will work like the old one but with wider pipes Still didn't test it yet cuz im waiting for the fan still The lower hose that connects to the water pump did fit alright between the ac compressor lines and the ac compressor body but the fan switch is so tight with the alternator im talking like 50mm space I tried the radiator at highway speeds the temp was pretty stable with a broken fan and no ac When i install the new fan will post the results with pics- Skoda felicia overheating problem
Mohamedelbana replied to Mohamedelbana's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanForgot to mention my fan bearings are worn out so i might fit 2 modern fans instead of this old noisy hog and i had to replace these 2 things from the old radiator these in the pic are the 1.6s umm come to think of it the one on the right should have been installed so the fan switch could have some room to fit probably and plug the upper hole with something- Skoda felicia overheating problem
Mohamedelbana replied to Mohamedelbana's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanUpdate for you guys Finally i had some time to squeeze the 1.6 radiator and indeed it is 10 cm wider The fan switch is squished between the radiator and the alternator but it works I did fill the system with cooland and noticed it took ages to warm up but the fan didn't kik in so i took off the reservoir cap and holy smokes it had alot of pressure and alot of coolant came out so i figured i got air in the system so i started to bleed it from air toped it off to the mark the fan kicks in alright and stops for 2 to 3 mins but didn't try it on the road or with ac maybe tomorrow we will see the results and post an update - Skoda felicia overheating problem
