  1. HI folks. I have scoured the net, as well as this great forum looking to find the location of the Fuel Pump Relay. The other day I was driving along and suddenly the car turned off, without any warning. And I could not get it started. Thankfully, several hours later it started and I drove the car for a while before it turned off again. Car is now parked until I can sort this problem out. I got a friend of mine to diagnose using an app and it came back with some advisory messages listed: P263500 Fuel Pump "A" Low Flow/Performance P0230 Fuel Pump Relay - Circuit Malfunction Has anyone seen these errors before? Firstly, I want to check if the Fuel Pump Relay is faulty, before I go on to replace the Fuel Pump, which of course will be more costly. Questions: Where is the Fuel Pump Relay(s) situated? Does the Fuel Pump sit under the back seat of the car? I have seen Relay location information in this forum for the MK2 Octavia, but not for my MK3 Octavia VRS TDI 2014. Does anyone have any diagrams or can point me to the location of the relay(s) please? Your advice is appreciated. Thank you.
  2. varoom, thanks for the products mentioned. I will definitely be looking into getting the last two. Anything to avoid an expensive DPF replacement. There is a VAG DPF app that I used a long time ago. I will try this and see if I can get the Soot measured/calculated and Oil Ash content. If not, then I'll pop over to my local garage. Will post back results. Thank you.
  3. Hi varoom. Current mileage is just over 150k. I would've thought driving on the motorway regularly cleaned the DPF? Yes my car is getting on a bit now. Appreciate the offer of checking the DPF soot/oil levels. My local garage does have a diagnostics machine, so I will visit. I will ask them to check/clean the EGR, before I start thinking of replacing the DPF. I know it is probably a fruitless exercise, but I will also try a DPF cleaning additive. Not hoping for a miracle though. Thanks for your advice.
  4. Hi guys. I know this thread is some years old, but it is exactly related to my problem. I have experienced the dreaded DPF warning light last night on my Skoda Octavia TDI VRS 2014. Over the past 3 months I have noticed the car going into regeneration mode once a week, which I guess means the DPF is being cleaned. It then started doing it every other day and last night the DPF warning light stayed on all the time. I have been driving a lot on the motorway recently, surely this should have cleared the DPF right? With the DPF light staying on all the time, I hope it is not a DPF replacement. I read somewhere that it could possibly be an EGR problem, which in turn causes the DPF warning light?? Could I get away with having the sensors checked like user 'firefox2'? This would be a cheaper option, as I have heard that a new DPF replacement would be very expensive. Your thoughts are very much appreciated. Thank you.
  5. Hi guys. I most definitely want to try and clean the EGR valve. If there any instructions/diagrams on 'how to' it would be great. I will also take a look around the forum. I am worried that the dead spot may turn out to be something more serious, so will be looking at EGR valve for sure. Really appreciate the valuable information discussed so far. Thanks guys.
  6. Thank you MarkyG82 So Diesels do not come with Throttle body, that explains why i was not able to find it. I'm not a big fan of Insurance companies, so i think i'll give Pedal box a miss, and just learn to live with the dead spot. Just hope it doesn't morph into something more serious later. Great info, appreciate your reply. Cheers 😉
  7. Hi guys. I have noticed that my Skoda Octavia VRS TDI MK3 (2014) has a slight hesitation when depressing the accelerator. After much reading, i want to try and clean the Throttle body. I don't fancy a huge garage bill for something i could possibly do myself. Just wanted to know, does my car have a Throttle body? If so, is it easy to remove/clean? I had a look around the forum for information and found some engine diagrams, but could not find a reference to the Throttle body. Or is it known as a Throttle valve? Not sure if i am searching correctly? Please can someone provide tips/diagrams and instructions? Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  8. Hi people. Having recently bought a Skoda Octavia VRS TDI MK3, I decided that i had to join the Briskoda community , so would just like to say Hello to you all. I hope to learn about my car from this great forum. Cheers Cardy
