About Me

Knocking on a bit but do not think the Octavia is aimed at the older driver.

Bought my first Octavia in 2010 after reading up about the cars available in the family car class and found the Octavia to be a winner in many respects.

Car came as a 1.6 tdi SE hatch in Cappuchino colour and in 6and a bit years only needed the fog light part of the light switch to be fixed, a new EGR valve fitted (done free although just outside warranty period as I has experienced a limp home occasion just prior to the warranty expiring), aircon failure, LED bulbs in mirror, new battery as it was not holding much of a charge and the usual tyres, brakes and wipers.

Bought my 2nd Octavia in early 2017 as a demonstrator with 20 miles on the clock as it save a few thousand and I did not like the split headlights of the refreshed model. Another 1.6 tdi though I feel that I should have looked for a 2 litre tdi. So far no problems except find the red paint on the bumpers to be easily scraped down to white undercoat.

Servicing on both cars has been at Winchester Motor Company exclusively and has been pretty good so far. Better experience than at Ford, Renault, Rover and Vauxhall dealers I have used.
