If you google VAG engine codes, there will be tables to identify which cars were fitted with this engine.

That's the engine code AUQ fitted to tbe 1.8 t vrs occys. 180 bhp engine.

Tbe guy that had tbe car before me fitted a 6 speed diesel to tbe car from a mk4 gt TDI. Incredible top end stuff because of tbe gear ratios but ridiculous amount of lag as you need 350 plus bhp to get it going. So I was told go and source a 6 speed petrol hence on this site. You any luck with anything.

Just fro t wheel drive, no intentions of converting to 4wd but will eventually fit an LSD. 😃👍

Not really aiming for mega bhp, 350 plus would be ideal. Looking to get a ko4 064 hybrid but need the adapter plate, plus of course the cupra R gearbox. What code is the gearbox, I see loads of fml gearboxes, but have been told to ensure I use the o2m / fzq . Mine presently has the 6 speed diesel (laugh !) From the mk4 gti tdi golf. Sluggish early revs, no torque but when it kicks in, its wicked. What downpipe did you use, one off for the build ? Sorry for questions, cant believe I've found someone who's done what I want to do. Did you upgrade to a 6 speed box last year and if so can we exchange views as I am in process of changing next few week, I have a 6 speed diesel in now with the 1.8t petrol but need to try a 6 speed petrol as this is sluggish even with the engine at 270 bhp. Regards

Hi pal, very interested in your incredible rebuild, is this a mk1 vrs. I presently have one with rebuilt engine and loads if upgrades but need a different turbo and looking at a 6 speed box just like yourself. Really interested Regards n good luck.

Did you ever complete this gearbox fitting, I.e. 6 speed Leon cupra r petrol to your 1.8t vrs occy. I'm looking at doing this next few weeks. Cheers

Hi, anyone have any advice on turbo upgrade, presently running a Te O4 big turbo running around 270 bhp, but need to spend a but of dosh now to get rid and upgrade to something more reliable, been looking at the Ko4 hybrids and beach buggys turbos. Anyone done this or similar. Regards Smiddy.

Hi has anyone upgraded their Mk1 vrs gearbox with the 6 speed petrol OM2 from the cupra r mk1. Presently have the 0M2 diesel gearbox fitted, runs great but very sluggish so been told that the cupra mk1 6 speed, fits the 1.8t. Engine modded and mapped to 270 bhp at moment. Has anyone done this or got any advice on way forward. Regards
