  1. I recently bought a 2010 Yeti. Everything on it worked except the boot load area light. After checks it was clearly the microswitch in the catch itself so I went onto Ebay to get a replacement, expecting it to be a doddle.. And there were loads, for all the VW/Skoda/Seat models, but only one second hand one for a Yeti at £40! But looking at the other VW group catches, many were clearly very similar mechanically to that off the Yeti although they were clearly identified as not being compatible. I decided to take a chance on the new catch for £11.69, in the hope that I could make a goodun out of the two. When it arrived, I was glad I had. As I suspected from the photos, mechanically and electrically it was identical functionally. What made it different was the clip on plastic cover to blend in with the different tailgate liner shape of different cars. Remove the wrong plastic cover from the new catch, unclip that off the original catch, clip it onto the new catch and Hey Presto a new Yeti tailgate catch for £11.69. It plugs straight into the Yeti harness, the boot light now works and door warning display works correctly as well. Result! this may be old hat, but I couldnt find any catches at a reasonable price, hope this helps someone!
