  1. I'm beginning to regret I asked...not that it has proved fruitful anyway, not even one view of my ad :(
  2. Hello, I need to sell my Felicia as my husband was made redundant a few months back and we can only (barely) afford to run one car. I have a Citigo that was bought as a second car which will now have to suffice as the main family car. This needs insuring which is why I'm having to sell the Felicia. I've had my trusty Felicia for 7 years and 80,000 miles and she's never let me down so it'll be sad to see her go but needs must :( I am in Margate in Kent. X reg, registered 07/12/2000 Red, hatchback 84,500 miles 1.3 Popular (54hp) Paint, being red, is unfortunately pretty flat but does come up nicely with a polish. A few minor rust patches around a couple of the windows but otherwise the bodywork is fine. Currently on SORN. MOT expires 18th January 2015 Decent tyres - Yokohama rear, Pirelli front (new this year) Last year she had a new exhaust (catalytic converter section) and then a new tail pipe. All original documents and handbooks, original Skoda radio. I am asking for £275 as that is what it will cost me to insure the Citigo. If you need any further information please ask. Thank you for looking. Rhona
  3. Thank you, very much appreciated. Do I sell on this forum or do I need to post on classifieds?
  4. Hello, I need to sell my trusty Felicia but wasn't sure if I can advertise it on here?? Please advise. Thank you
  5. At last the brake problem is sorted... only been going on since June! Finally, last week after countless calls to Skoda UK I managed to get the brake discs replaced. Despite being previously told the unbalanced brakes 'would pass an MOT' on starting to replace the discs they found that the brake calipers were leaking and as it was a 'safety issue' they were replaced too. My husband asked whether the damage to the calipers was caused by the warped discs and was told yes. Makes me wonder what would have happened if we had just not bothered to chase the 'not covered under warranty' palaver. I'm wondering now if Skoda will change the warranty wording...?
  6. Oooh I like boxes of bits...too many in my garage! Thank you!
  7. Thank you. £18 isn't too bad but he'll have to save his pennies I guess! I tried and tried with the cam but I just couldn't get it to work and then spent about three hours trying to get those annoying anti-theft guards back in place before I skinned several knuckles and threw them across the garage! If you have a VW there are tutorials everywhere for fixing the problem but the lock isn't the same. Seems strange when it's apparently such a common problem there are no instructions! I may end up swopping the passenger barrel over but it is quite entertaining watching him go out to the car and 'discovering' for the squillionth time that the door lock doesn't work
  8. Sorry, I should have put this in my last post... As well as a headlight we also need a drivers door lock. The barrel just spins and after taking the door apart and finding the cam pieces in the bottom I ordered a replacement cam piece. I cannot get the lock to work and there are no instructions anywhere on how to fix this particular lock. I've come to the conclusion that we need a new lock. If anyone is breaking a Felicia (2001) or is willing to sell such an item please get in touch. Thank you!
  9. Hello! My hubby's trusty Felicia (X-reg, 2001) has a picked up a big hole in the NS (passenger) headlamp unit :S Would anybody have a headlight unit up for grabs? Apparently it's too big to repair and the local breakers and ebay are proving rather too pricey as hubby has just been made redundant. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
  10. In the last couple of weeks both my husband and I have noticed a judder under light braking. I thought I was going mad at first but now my husband has noticed it too. The car is only five months old and under 3000 miles. I gather from some of these earlier posts I'm not the only one so I will be phoning the dealer tomorrow to see what they say :(
  11. Mine took 16 weeks and was an Elegance with sunset glass and entertainment pack. It was finally collected January this year after being ordered in September!
  12. My PID always warns me if there is a safety camera looming with 'Beware, watch your speed' whether you are speeding or not. As far as I've ascertained, you will get a 'Beware' if you are over the speed limit. I had some trouble with loading onto my PID at the beginning and ended up calling up Garmin customer support and they sorted it out for me. Might be worth a call.
  13. Mine is hit and miss. Sometimes it's fine and plays from where it left off when I press the media button, other times I find it's defaulted to Aux and that just totally confuses it. I also get the 'frozen screen' where it looks as if it's playing the music but actually it's just stuck on that screen and I have to remove the unit until it emits a beep then replace it - then it goes back to the beginning of that song. I've tried switching off several different ways and none have proved completely successful all of the time Yep, Fresh is a load of rubbish too and why are the add-ons so expensive? My son found the Garmin site and saw all the fun things you can add to your Nuvi or whatever it's called - silly voices, dashboards, icons and asked if I could add some to the Citigo unit. It doesn't support any of that except you can buy a voices pack but it's really expensive. Not that I mind not having daft voices but it would be nice to have the choice.
  14. Hi all, I was perusing t'internet and came across this http://www.just-auto.com/news/modified-volkswagen-up-now-on-sale_id143014.aspx This modified UP! is gets a longer wheelbase to accommodate a bigger boot and fuel tank, indicators in the mirrors, proper roll down rear windows, dual window switches for the front and more powerful air con. It also looks just like a Citigo with the metal tailgate instead of the nasty glass one. It's not only longer but bigger all round but something doesn't quite look right to me, maybe it's riding too high but it just looks odd! I found the brochure too, in Brazilian obviously but lots of pictures http://www.vw.com.br/pt/carros/up/destaques.html Liking the mirrors and window switch - hmmmmmmm
  15. Whaaaat??? :o Am I reading that right - you want to change the seat belts? Seems a bit extreme and a tad unecessary but as KenOneill says DON'T go second hand, it's crazy, a sure-fire warranty no-no and possibly downright dangerous! If however, you still want to change them I have a friend that restores cars and she uses these guys http://www.quickfitsbs.com/index.php They can do re-webbing in pretty much any colour, even neon pink but it isn't cheap. Personally I'd get some belt covers to stop the blighters chafing due to the lack of height adjusters - there are loads of funky designs available.
