the box of tricks on the underside of the steering column is held on by the poxiest little screw at the front. Didn’t have a bit small enough, so I drilled it out (sue me. This is 100% a bangernomics motor!)
you then have to take the ‘lid’ off the box, exposing the underside of a circuit board. you then have to very bloody carefully, prise this down away from the connectors that plug into it (after removing the black and yellow connectors at the very back of the board, which go under the dash)
Once prised away, you’ll see two clips to be eased off, then the second half of the lid will come away.
Now you can pull the clock spring/sensor stuff forward (clips again) and get your indicator stalk off.
refit is the reverse of removal.
That job has done me in today. Only way I clocked about removing the board was a video on retrofitting CC to a mk5 golf. The board had to be replaced so I figure it must pull away.
