  1. @BACUPIAN I will continue cleaning the area using a dedicated toothbrush and of course not my own toothbrush😃. Just wondering if this is a design flaw with the Octavia line. I have not seen many cars with this issue. Lucky are those with garages to keep their cars. Thank you guys for your tips.
  2. Thank you @Gaz Actually it is algae I suppose, greenish in colour. I don't want to remove any of the original windows trims, only trying to find a way to seal that outside opening on the windows to prevent water getting in those areas and perhaps prevent more algae growth.
  3. Hi all, I'm looking for guidance in finding the right seal to buy to solve the issue with mould building on the outside of all the 4 windows(see attached picture). Has anyone come across this issue, and if yes, what window rubber seal do you recommend? I've had a quick google search, but there are lots of products and I can't make out which out is genuine or not. Example is: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401579205953 Thank you in advance.
  4. An update on this thread,I Iended up using Trans City Skoda in Walthamstow, and I must say the service was spot on,no complaints at all. I was initially very hesitant after reading some reviews on Google but I'm guessing everyone get their own personal experience with whichever garage they use. In summary, I will definitely use them again.
  5. Hi good people, My car is due for general service and oil change as per message displaying on the dashboard.its a 2016 make and done close to 18000 miles. This is my first car, and I'm not very experienced in car maintenance. I'm tempted to use Skoda dealership for the upcoming service, have read horrible experiences people have gone through e.g.Trans City Skoda in Walthamstow. Do you guys think finding a local reputable garage is better? Thank you.
  6. Thank you guys for all your suggestions.🙂 I think a ratio of 1:2 or 1:3 for summer will do. I bought this specific screenwash as it was recommended by the Skoda dealership but next time, I will explore other cheaper options like Halfords Concentrate, as along as they get the job done. Still scratching on whether to use simple tap water or deionised water. Interesting discussions on that forum. https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/deionised-or-tap-water-in-screenwash.18710042/page-2
  7. Hi ladies and gents, Forgive me if this question sounds dumb. I' m new to car ownership and maintenance. Has anyone of you used that screenwash? I Can't figure out the mixing proportion for warm weather. I'm only seeing mixing ratios (wash:water) 1:0 for -21 degrees and 1:1 for -7 degrees.( See attached pictures) Does it mean in summer or when temperatures are not below 0, I don't mix the wash with any water or do 1:1? And if I must mix it, does any water work? Thank you.
