  1. Pressure test a washer bottle? Really? Washer bottles are not designed to be pressured, it is just....a water bottle. A coolant expansion tank yes, but not a washer bottle. My first thought would be if there is a hairline split at the bottom of the bottle, just enough to allow not so much as a leak, but a weep. Perhaps the weep (1-2 drops worth at a time) is then being evaporated by the engine. Failing that, a common area is around the washer pump/motor, if its located on the bottle. I've had numerous cars with tiny splits in the tubing/pump body in the past.
  2. As a rule, it's good practise to let the turbo spool down before switching off; likewise let the engine idle for a couple of minutes before setting off from cold. On old cars, this was critical - I'm not sure about newer cars. Even at low speeds, turbos can spin as much as 100,000+ rpm. For the sake of 2 mins (which is better than not doing anything at all) I wouldn't bother risking potential turbo/engine damage further down the road.
  3. I've just bought a 68 plate 1.0 MPI SE hatch. They look wonderfully simple to service (oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, pollen filter and maybe fuel filter if built on or before 2015). As for performance, it's quick for a little engine! Hardly supercar performance but being a short stroke engine its quick off the mark (mine gets to 50 quite rapidly). Don't know much about the mk2, but I've never been keen on then personally. Think they are refreshed underneath, and the interior is definitely more advanced. I would go for at least SE - the S is too sparse equipment wise, and there's not much extra on the SEL to warrant paying a higher price (unless it's cheap, not sure if they do the monte carlo estate). I think the facelift mk3 looks better, as it has the option of LED lights and the grille looks more 'Skoda', and has a better touchscreen I think, but again is only my opinion. Just search for cars for sale and shortlist the ones you like the look ofm theres literally hundreds to choose from so you can choose to be picky.
