  1. Yearly I have the throttle body plate cleaned. But more recently the engine light has come back more quickly, and is intermittent - coming on for one journey, off for the next. I read somewhere that the sensor itself may need cleaning around or replacing - I find tutorials on cleaning the throttle body plate, but I can't find anything on where to find or access or clean the sensor. Any sign posting appreciated!
  2. I have a 2013 skoda yeti adventure 4x4 that has started making a high pitched noise a bit like an old skool kettle with a whistle on a hob when boiling, but with a pulsing to it. it feels like it’s coming from low down, centre of the engine, perhaps around below the gear stick - when moving my head around the passenger seat. it doesn’t feel like bearings, or brakes. The car usually needs a few minutes run before the noise starts (suggesting maybe that something warming up and expanding?!), braking doesn’t affect the noise, steering doesn’t affect the noise, putting foot on the clutch and coasting doesn’t affect the noise - the pulsing element to the sound changes slightly when slowing down and speeding, so speed affects it slightly - something linked to the wheels? below 20mph the noise stops, it only starts over 20mph. a mechanic kindly went for a test drive and first words were “that’s a peculiar noise”… and had no obvious answer, but did suggest it wasn’t an obvious engine noise, or wheel assembly. His first guess was to maybe clean the brakes etc. it really does feel like it’s come from low down centre console - could that be part of the 4x4 system? 🤷‍♂️ any experience or similar threads with pleas for similar help? thanks in advance!
  3. Here’s a recording of the knocking bonk. Recording from the footwell of the drivers side. Car knocking noise copy.m4a
  4. I drive a manual yeti 2013 2.0 4x4. There is a low down knocking noise coming from the front which can disappear as quickly as it appears - it doesn’t feel connected to the wheel assembly. When we can hear it it can happen constantly on/off for 5 minutes - it sounds almost like something is spinning/rotating as it hits something. It’s as if it then “moves” to where it can’t be heard. And can stop altogether! Driving over bumps doesn’t make it appear, turning doesn’t make it appear. It can happen accelerating or when the foot is on the clutch. I feel it has something to do a with the axles / drive train - but I have no idea what I’m talking about. Mechanics can’t find anything obvious under a ramp, and have booked it in with a wobbly ramp. Are there any obviously concealed things that could come loose they could check.
  5. These are all great tips! Thanks - must admit, did think this could easily escalate to me asking about a new door or paint shop recommendations if I’d gone at it with a heat gun 😆 especially when I read 100 degrees C! 🤪 can confirm local dealership have hit back with a £150 cost for the trim 🥸 as it has chrome on it 🤦🏼‍♂️ otherwise £60 without the go faster chrome. will see if that eBay part is the same for the 2013 limited edition yeti.
  6. Nearside front passenger. thanks!
  7. Pulled the trim back on my Yeti to treat some rust, broke the strip of door bump trim 🤦🏼‍♂️ is there a place to go for door trim for the Adventure edition? (Is different from other?) Also, any guides on removing fitting door trim? Thanks!
  8. From having this cleaned back in April 2021 - the same errors are coming now end of September 2022 - just under 80,000 miles on the clock. Booked in to have it cleaned again. Will ask for photos again.
  9. ah, thanks - I took the car to garage to clear the codes - warning lights came back straight away - so assume it's cabling issue. Booked in to the Skoda garage for a more comprehensive diagnostics on the ABS. Unless there's any recommendations of other parts I can try and replace? or clean? While I wait for the appointment 🤷‍♂️ Not sure where to look for the bulk of the ABS wiring to simply inspect.
  10. Update to these error codes - I finally got round to change the left sensor and the warnings haven't updated with an initial car start - which likely suggests it may be the wiring instead. 01324: 4 - WD ECU - J492 No Signal/No Communication - Intermittent 00668: Supply Voltage Terminal 30 Lower Limit Reached - Intermittent 00283: ABS Wheel Speed Sensor, Front Left - G47 Electrical Problem Circuit Unless, do I need to clear the error codes to know if it's fixed? Or should they clear on their own if the issue is fixed?
  11. Are these errors similar to your experience? I'm guessing the first relates to the AWD not working due to the sensor not working? not sure on 00668 - but again, could be due to the wheel speed sensor not working perhaps? Looks like I could give it a try changing it, and if no luck - take it to my local skoda garage for a full diagnostics on the electrical circuit?... Where you able to replace the sensor without having to remove the brakes? Thanks! 01324: 4 - WD ECU - J492 No Singal/No Communication - Intermittent 00668: Supply Voltage Terminal 30 Lower Limit Reached - Intermittent 00283: ABS Wheel Speed Sensor, Front Left - G47 Electrical Problem Circuit

  13. Just to confirm page 2 was the service status and not another error (now 3/3 because the doors are open, so that’s 1/3, the error is 2/3, and the service status is 3/3). my local independent is pretty good at plugging in for free to get a diagnostics, so I’ll give this a try, but assume at this point based on all your tips and experience it’s a sensor error as everything is “working”, including power steering. I’ve checked the abs fuses, and all fine. Had previously fixed a throttle cutout problem by using forums first and then having the throttle plate cleaned. Great stuff.
  14. Yes there are, ABS and Stabilisation errors in orange on the right dial, what's the one on the So page 2/2 isn’t an error, it’s the miles run etc - but reading up, another comment maybe correct that it’s an error in the steering wheel?… I’ve seen that error before with an airbag light when the airbag failed (but didn’t fail) and the squib ring had to be replaced.
  15. oh, that just the miles run etc - not another error - I’m in the vehicle status section of the menu.
