  2. Im not really sure the thinking behind the additional first year tax imposed for vehicles over £40k, why that particular figure. I can understand you'r annoyance at the added tax. For me, Skoda would not budge from the additional £888 they wanted from us, despite with the help you all provided on this forum pointing out the difference was actually £660 as they had not accounted for the tax that was already included pre-april, so we refused to accept a revised contract out of principle and we now have a Mercedes GLB 200d AMG premium arriving next week
  3. well if you dont mind Solid Blue SE L with no optional extras, there could be one going spare in the next week if we dont agree something reasonable with the lease company.....as my view is they could have registered ours in March but chose not to so Im not willing to pay the additional tax. I might meet them halfway though.....liking the look of the Mercedes GLB otherwise, which is a similar lease cost at the moment.
  4. Thanks OK so they have defo asked us for more than they should. Out of interest, was your expected delivery always in June? Or have you also been waiting for it since feb or march? Ours was via Marshalls
  5. Hi all, I was interested to read this thread because this is just happening to us. We actually ordered a Kodiaq 1.5 TSI SEL DSG back in September last year for a feb 2020 delivery on a lease. We had an update in 1st week feb telling us it was in build and to expect delivery around 4 weeks later, ie early March. In the end we started hearing nothing, other than it was stuck in the port in the UK in early March and then the lockdown kicked in march 23rd and we've only just started getting any comms again, and this was to say that they were going to need to change the contract hire rate to increase it by £444 per year because of tax changes. I checked my contract and although VED is included it does say if tax rate increases after the contract was issued the customer needs to pay the extra. But......I have pushed back and said no because I ordered in Sep and the car should have been here already in Feb or early march before the lockdown and that is was Skoda's choice not to collect the cars from the ports and register them before 1st April. What do you think? I also think they are over charging me on a 2 year lease this is £888 for tax increase? but reading the above it isnt that much because of what would have been paid before and also is there an effect on the 2nd year tax? Surely the government must accept also that they introduced lockdown that caused cars destined for March to be delayed so its surely not fair to apply the increases in that case?
