  1. Well a drone could help! 🙂 My old Octavia started my old mountain video off in your neck of the woods (I'm a very keen mountain climber) so maybe give you some ideas for your project!
  2. it sounds like it now you say it that way! :-) Thank you, I'll drop you a PM. J
  3. I had a very similar issue with a VW Passat. Had cam-belt changed as routine and it snapped on the M5 bricking the engine. it was just 6 weeks after the work had been done. Had to argue strongly with the independent garage who claimed the part failed, not their fitting of said part. Eventually they replaced the whole engine and claimed for the costs from the part manufacturer/supplier. Never really sure if the garage did a good job on the original fitting but it got sorted, just was tense and frustrating at times. As others have said, know your rights, be polite and persistent.
  4. Hi all, ***warning newbie about to make a tit of himself *** Just purchased a 2014 2.0 TDI Elegance Estate to replace my trusted Mk2 Octavia 1.9TDI........the new car is in really good nick but wouldn't mind making some minor improvements: The silver trim on the driver side door is heavily scratched, this is the horizontal panel that's by the handle. Can I replace just that part or is it a whole new door panel? I'd like to retrofit adapted cruise control as a project, appreciate this is going to be expensive - has anyone done this successfully? Thanks all in advance, J
