  1. @Mickmartin Afternoon I'm not automotive mechanically minded. It was remapped to 193bhp and to 302torque. The original BHP on the roller was down to 164bhp, so down on new. Unfortunately/fortunately I left the car to be dealt with with the guys who did the remap, as it needed transporting to the auto garage when they could fit it in. The receipt just had gear selector replaced and clutch replacement along with a speed sensor thrown in. The auto garage is well respected locally (dunning's Weymouth) so I was happy to do what they said. I have been on call since getting the car back which means I haven't had a good run in it yet, as I have to be within 30 minutes of work, but have clocked 200miles so far and all seems good. So it appears the main problem was the plastic gear selectors. @Gazza72 car seems as good as new. No way I could fault find these issues myself though. Cheers guys for the feed back make these threads very helpful even for a layman.
  2. 2011 FABIA VRS 57,000 miles : I unfortunately went for a remap using a Pendle performance agent, all went well for a whole 18 miles and then I had the same problem as Darren with the gears jumping dangerously, lost reverse as well. They took the remap back to original spec but that didn't change anything. They took it to a local autospecialist who straight away new the fault, broken gear selector. New gear selector and clutch and 2nd hand speed sensor (they had lying around) was as £1800. The Pendle agents put the remap back on and and all seems good. The auto specialists said they see a large number of these gearboxes coming through their garage, common fault.
