  1. Hi. I'm about 4 miles South of Cambridge. If you're ever in the area you would be most welcome. I might look into VAG specific Autel. I use a non specific Autel code reader for my old Volvo and mates cars but I doubt it's much good on the VRS.
  2. That's very generous - thank you.
  3. Yep - new car for me, other experience is with fastback rapides and MK1 Octavia diesels. I will live with this until I need to visit a dealer or specialist garage - rare for me though as I have a lot of motor trade experience and almost never allow anybody to work on my own cars. Locally the dealer is unfortunately the monster from hell Vindis group who seem to hold franchises for every make under the sun. Think of a price, double it and add 25% just for fun! Thanks for the replies though.
  4. The VRS is 2010 so the facelift version and this afternoon I think I've viewed every video that I can find on this topic! Including the second one that langers2k kindly posted which shows the same dash layout that I have. Have tried again half a dozen times this afternoon. I think it's defeated me!
  5. So - have service now message on my Octavia 2 VRS diesel estate, but as I always service my own cars I need to get rid of this. I can see you all yawning and thinking not again - another numpty! However, I know how to do this using the trip button and have done it successfully on other Octavias - it just will not erase. Anybody else had this issue and managed to solve it? I don't have Maxidot or steering wheel controls. Thanks, Mike
