  1. Thanks for the replies guys. I'm still on the fence with this one and still haven't heard back from the dealership, I'll give them a ring in the morning if I don't hear back by the end of today. @kenfowler3966 Yeah, that was my reasoning too tbh. From what I've read, the timing chain issue usually rears its ugly head at <50k miles, so the fact that this one is up to 88k miles and has FSH suggests that the issue might have been addressed. With that said, still waiting on a call back from the dealer so we'll see. @Expatman Yeah, the tow bar was a bit of a concern considering it's only a 1.2 petrol. Not saying that's inherently a bad thing, but if it's towed heavier loads it might not be the healthiest of engines. I'm no mechanic though so I have no idea on the real towing capability of the car or the overall impact that might have had.
  2. Hi all! I'm new to the forums, currently considering purchasing my first Yeti. It's a 2011 1.2 TSI. Linky. My main concern after doing a bit of research here on the forums is the timing chain and tensioner issues with older TSI models. I've emailed the dealer and am waiting on a callback to clarify if the vehicle has had a new timing chain recently. In the description it does mention full service history, although it doesn't specify whether this is main dealer or not. I do have my heart set on a Yeti, but finding one in my area that is a) within my budget and b) meets my criteria (petrol engine) is tricky. What would you guys recommend? Is it worth taking a punt? I do plan to keep the car for at least the next few years. TIA!
