  1. Thanks, that's very helpful. Doesn't it require pluging into VAG diagnostic equipment to bleed it afterwards though?
  2. Hi, hope everyone's doing well. I've just had the car MOT'd today and managed to get underneath and check the diff. It seems to be a bit worse, it was wiped down in September so is obviously leaking now. Do these pictures give a good idea where from, it seems to be around the pump, is it just the gasket between the pump and the diff casing, the shaft seals seem dry? Thanks!
  3. It was serviced by VW about 3 years ago. Might it be time for another one, get them to clean the guaze filter at the same time?
  4. Hi, I had my Superb serviced a few days ago, they said the rear diff looked like it's leaking. He said he thought it was from where a wire comes out, or similar. It's not dripping, just a bit damp. Any ideas, is this urgent? Cheers
  5. HI, my Superb is running well since it's AC compressor/condenser change but while diagnosing that issue there was a code for the MAF found. I also think it's using 'slightly' more fuel than it used to. It's done 158,000 miles and otherwise runs well, should I just replace it? Thanks
  6. Does anyone have a rough idea how much a VAG specialist would charge to change the Haldex oil/filter on a Superb? And presuming mines never been done do you think at 157,000 it's probably toast?
  7. It was serviced by a VW main dealer as I'm well aware of how poor some Skoda dealers are. Seems unlikely they changed the filter though, I might ask a specialist how much they'd charge. Thanks for this, V helpful
  8. Wow, that debris is enough to damage the pump? How hard is it to access, do you need to drop the oil first?
  9. This has made me think, my Haldex oil (same car, 2011) was changed a while ago by VW, they didn't mention anthing about the filter though?
  10. As you've had the prop off that seems to narrow it down to either the Haldex unit or diff. Any whining or backlash?
  11. Under load wouldn't suggest an imbalance IMO, that would be apparent all the time at speed? By removing the Haldex fues are you essentially making it FWD?
  12. Ok, that's interesting, do you have any idea how much you're going to ask for it?
  13. Hi, I'm soon to be gifted my parent's 2011 Surperb 4x4 salon. It's great, but the stereo sounds awful, any idea on my options guys? I'm quite flexible to either just fitting a good head unit and running it through the standard speakers, or even getting a 4 channel amp and wiring up new door speakers etc. I'm not concerned about preserving the Sat Nav, which is obsolete TBH. I also presume the poor sound is mostly caused by the head unit and not the speakers? Thanks!!!
  14. Yep, avoid all of it, just pure profit for the dealer.
  15. There's an intermittent banging coming from the car, I've changed the front top mounts but it's returned. I'll have a look this weekend see if I can check them.
  16. Hi, how hard is it to change the rear subframe bushing does anyone know? Cheers
  17. The belt was done over a year ago. It seemed ok afterwards, however, the flywheel was quite worn, so maybe it was hard to tell. This is just at idle, seems ok otherwise. I suppose the mounts could just be worn out, they're original I think? It's done 155,000 miles.
  18. It's had a new clutch and flywheel less than 15k ago, genuine VAG parts. It's not terrible, just noticeable. There's no chatter or other symptoms, I don't think pressing the clutch down makes any difference.
  19. Hi. I got in the car today and the engine although running well seems to be transmitting quite a lot of vibration into the car at idle. It's fine once your driving and runs and pulls well. Is this a sign of tired mounts, or worse to come? It hasn't had the emission update, and the car is well maintained, although I'm not sure what oil was used for the last service, I doubt it was cheap crap though, it revs out very smoothly. Cheers
  20. New compressor fitted today, all good. I'm quite impressed with the company that supplied it TBH. Too 36 hours to arrive too
  21. How many miles had your car done at the time?
  22. There were quite a few options available for the valve, I needed to see the brand to get the right one, also, with 150,000 miles on the car, I guess the old one was probably quite worn?
