  1. Thank you for the info,Steve 👍 would Motip Anti Gravel spray work for this?
  2. Hello everyone 😊 Could someone please help me identify what kind of paint/treatment is used on the underside of Octavias? I've got the usual rust/paint chipping around the wheels on the front of the car, towards the doors. I'm planning to sand and remove the rust and apply new paint, but the original paint seems to be thicker towards the underside of the car. Please see attached pics. It feels like some kind of rubber or a type of plastic dip. Is this a type of rust proofing? Best regards ,Tim
  3. Good morning Yes, this is the impression I had also, that everything you need comes with the Westfalia kit. I've contacted Skoda Norway, and they will look into the issue, because the lady there was somewhat surprised when I told her the price.
  4. Hello They basically told me that the whole engine cooling system had to be swapped; pipes, hose, radiator, fan etc., because apparently the 1.6TDI is PIA when it comes to towing. Searching the internet, I found a document from Skoda regarding towbar installation on a 2018 Karoq with the same 1.6TDI engine, no need to swap anything there. Considering the Karoq is probably a couple hundred kilos heavier than the Octavia, I find that really strange. But yeah, probably will need to sell the car and get something with towbar already attached. 😔
  5. Hello everyone New to these forums, been reading for a couple of weeks though, trying to find information about a particular issue. I'm in need of an towbar installation on my 2015 Octavia (1.6TDI/4x4). Talked to my official dealership in Norway about programming a Westfalia complete kit, and was told that while they could program the car, it would need to have the cooling system rebuilt. Got quoted 5500EUR for the rebuild + original towbar and electronics, and I almost fainted 😰 As far as I can see from my sticker in the boot, I do not have the factory towbar prep, code says 1D0. I was under the impression that this meant no existing wiring, so that job will have to be done by myself or an independent shop, but I've never heard about cooling systems that have to be rebuilt. For those of you who installed a Westfalia or other aftermarket towbar, did you need to upgrade the cooling? My best regards, Tim
