  1. Thanks for the contributions. sounds like slipping clutch would be the most likely issue. Just to clarify, the 2012 Mk2 Skoda Octavia Estate 62 plate is a full manual. It does have cruise control, don’t know if this means that the cars computer has an automatic function. the fault occurs when I am driving steadily in a gear but need to make a manoeuvre so accelerate, if I’m driving in fourth when I accelerate the computer reading will drop down to 3rd and the engine will sound and the car will accelerate like I have dropped a gear. However, the gear stick will remain in 4th and I will not have touched the clutch pedal. thanks again for the advice
  2. Hope someone can advise.... over the last week my Manual 2012 Octavia has started to select the gear below when I accelerate in gear. For example if I’m in 4th, when I accelerate the computer will show a gear change to 3rd but I will have the gear stick in 4th. This is the same for all gears, so in 5th the acceleration will mean the computer will select 4th and so on. the computer does recognise that it has done this and change back but obviously the issue causes the RPM to increase. no warning lights on the dash. anyone had anything similar? thanks in advance
