Mk2 Octavia 1.9 turning over but not starting
Thank you very much for reply, so if I get starter reconditioned it should sort problem? I topped up with oil few days ago and tonight yellow oil lamp flashing when I turn ignition before starting, I checked oil level and it is fine but could this be something connected to starting problem? Also I have had to drive it last few wks with coolant temp sensor disconnected as need to work, could that cause damage? Maybe I'm panicking now, I changed crankshaft sensor and coolant temp sensor

Mk2 Octavia 1.9 turning over but not starting
Hello, I am having a problem with skoda octavia mk2 2009,118k miles on clock, car will start fine first turn when cold and will not start warm unless i labour the starter keeping the key turned till it fires up,i have the coolant temp sensor disconnected and car will start hot or cold, this problem is going on 4 weeks now 😞 i changed the fuel pump first in a silly panic, then after some research i changed coolant temp sensor, still no luck 😞 there is no fault codes coming up,i brought to garage and they changed the crankshaft sensor, still same problem!!! checked the battery and it is fine, can someone explain the starter issue as i seen some have solved this problem with a starter but im confused at this stage, someone asked if the starter how will it start cold?what part of the starter becomes worn or faulty that it causes the problem to not start when engine is warm or hot?I am really getting stuck at this stage and spent silly money trying to fix this problem and still back to square one.Can anyone please help?

hot start problem
Ok,if was a bad connection would it not be present even on cold starts or also when i have disconnected the coolant temp sensor?with the coolant sensor disconnected it starts no problems hot or cold,i was hoping replacing the crank shaft sensor yesterday would have fixed it but i had read about the starter problems beforehand.

hot start problem
Hello all, I am only new here but i have been researching for last few weeks a current problem on 2009 skoda octavia 1.9tdi 118k miles on clock,it starts first turn when cold all the time but when warm will not start unless untill cools down, firstly i thought may be a fuel problem so changed fuel pump but no fix,i disconnected the coolant temp sensor and starts all the time so i changed coolant sensor no fix,i read about remapping it to copy the cold start to hot start to trick icu but after speaking with a company they said my problem is mechanical and not software so next step i got crank shaft sensor changed but again no fix, after alot of reading i dont know if to change cam shaft sensor or just change the starter, there is no error codes coming up,i have read about the starter issue and it seems to have fixed some.Anyone any advice of success fixing this?i have spend alot of money and no fix yet and getting extremely frustrating :( apart from this problem i have had no issues whatsoever with the car, timing belt was done at 80k miles and serviced regular.
