DMF conversion to Solid.
1.6 is solid flywheel. U won't get issues from solid for life of car. Yeah many octavias here I know have pings or clicks from pedal. Sometimes floors and needs pulling up then its fine. Dmf are a proper pain in the ass. As another poster said they usually last. Well 4 guys are on second. 2 on third dmf in under 4 years.

DMF conversion to Solid.
Yeah I understand i can swap like for like. I personally WANT a solid. My choice. A juddering solid is a juddering solid. A juddering dmf is a nearly finished dmf, I dont want to be swapping dmf another 2 to 3 times during the life of the car. I want to know if a solid conversion is possible for this vehicle.

DMF conversion to Solid.
Hi all My 2ltr Diesel 17plate SEL 6 speed manual is at 81k and my flywheel is driving me nuts. Car is pristine apart from the issue of sounding like a tractor when starting up. Clutch pedal pinging down and up when cold. Rattle for first 20 min in my day. (Taxi,) Judder slightly when idle at junctions when start stop deactivated. Thing is. I dont mind swapping clutch and dmf but I really don't want a dmf. I want a solid. I cant for the life of me find online the solid conversion details to say it can be done. Knowing my luck. It won't be possible and I will have to stick with dual mass. Any of you got any ideas? Thanks

Boot button stopped working
All is well deteriorating over time. my calliper issue was when car was less than 2 years old. The car isn’t three years old and at 24 grand for a motor you expect the bloody boot to work for the foreseeable future. my battery was replaced at 2 year old I must also add.

Boot button stopped working
Well I would of thought that an issue resolved should be guaranteed from the time of repair but these days it wouldn’t surprise me if once warranty ends. So does guarantee on any work. I was told on my second service that pad wear was different on one side. Possible calliper issue. 40k miles. I get a squeaking on slight right turns. Took it in. They said it was nothing. Probably disks need replacing and they were due apparently. I took it to a mate who owns a garage to get pads and disks done. He bought parts and after 20 min he came in to see me and said if I changed the disks I was just chucking money away as there was nothing wrong with them. Not lipped or worn. so I didn’t get the calliper repaired or replaced even though that was the issue. Rectified myself. I could of got it done but only if I wasted money on disks not needed. I have sourced a replacement unit and taken old one out and installed new one. Simple enough but time consuming. Replaced clips and lining. works now. i won’t buy another Skoda again as after sales service is basically like being brushed under the carpet once you drive the car away.

Boot button stopped working
Thanks. Took it to auto electrician. Says will cost a lot as rear panels need stripping. I have pressed it hundreds of times to test today and 1 time it actually opened. Only once though. Taking it somewhere later on. Newcastle here.

Boot button stopped working
Hi all. 2017 Octavia SEL. 3 year old at end of month but 63k on clock and so warranty is out. Put my stuff in the boot today. Got out to retrieve it. Boot button does not make a noise or even pretend to be alive. Key fob opens the boot with long press so not the end of the world. It hasnt been overfilled or slammed. Or knocked. I checked fusebox (fuse 50 boot open mechanism) no fuse in that hole so it cant be that lol. I am not taking it to skoda. My boot would sometimes not shut and had to press the button to reverse mech to get it in correct position to shut quite a few times. Told skoda when service was done but wasnt even brought up in conversation when 3 services were done. Lo and behold. Warranty out and this has happened. I hope this isnt the start of a downhill trend with the car. I have looked after it and its pristine. Anyone got any clue what it may be? I have checked fuses. No fuse in that slot. I have reset infotainment locking settings. I have locked car and tried. Opened car and tried. No noise from rubber button at all.
