I bought the struts from Autodoc online, £300 the pair and installed them before going to the dealer when the fault wasn't remedied

Just thought I'd share an issue I had recently with my powered Tailgate. When unlocking the tailgate it was either beeping and not lifting, or lifting halfway and stopping. I thought maybe it was a fault with one of the electric struts, so I replaced them both. The problem still remained, so I booked the car into the local dealer for a diagnostic test. They couldn't find any issues. They suggested replacing the catch and motor, so they fitted new ones. The same problem remained. Finally they did a software upgrade and that sorted the problem. The bill for all of this was a tidy sum.
