I have a 2017 Skoda Karoq, bought second-hand in February from a Skoda dealership.
It came with Smartlink fully functional, but as with my other Skoda (2018 Fabia), it occasionally has hiccups, which are usually resolved by switching the engine off and on again.
Today, it seems to have had more than a hiccup and after driving fine with Smartlink on (connected to my Android phone), I stopped to pick up some milk. When I got back in the car, it wouldn't progress beyond "Starting Smartlink". I unplugged the phone from it's USB cable. Nothing. I went to the main menu and selected Smartlink. Still came back to 'Starting Smartlink", even with no phone attached.
I eventually pulled over, switched off the engine, opened/closed the door (which seems to trigger actually turning off the system), and started the engine. Still stuck on "Starting Smartlink".
I have done a factory reset of the Smartlink system - and it is still stuck on "Starting Smartlink".
Any ideas? I'm not deperate to have to go pay a dealer to fix what is clearly just a simple software issue.
Thanks
S
