  1. Does anyone know the best place to buy touch up stick, also is Metal grey the same as Quartz grey as the codes appear to be the same. My car is Quartz grey but on many sites i can only find Metal Grey.
  2. I looked at this again today and have worked out a permanent fix. Lifting the flap when closing was working but remembering to do it all the time is a bit of a pain, my wife would never remember. I removed the colour coordinated part of the flap which slides towards you with the flap open and simply lifts off. Having done this you can now see what is happening when you push the flap to the closed position. This enabled me to see that the spring loaded pin was not locating correctly and lifting it was allowing the necessary clearance for it to work. The answer was to get a mini file and file a tiny amount from the LHS of the flap probably less than a millimetre in total. This is enough for the pin to connect correctly allowing the flap to close perfectly flush. My one frustration is my dealer looked at this and removed the outer flap but said they could do nothing other than order new flap and hinge at my cost. Must be because the computer did not tell them how to do it, what happened to initiative.
  3. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that my filler cap was not sitting flush. The car was in the dealers yesterday for a sensor replacement and i asked them to look at it and the garage said the only fix was to replace the flap and the hinge but as the car is out of warranty this would need to be covered my myself. The dealer said they had seen a few of these. Today i thought i would have a look and see if i could do anything, after a bit of fiddling i notice the catch was not locating correctly and it looks like the filler cap had a little play in it which makes it drop slightly. The fix is simple by raising the flap slightly as you close it the socket engages correctly and the filler is flush once again. Don't know how much the replacement parts would have cost but i am sure it would not have been cheap so i am happy with this fix and i will have to remember to raise it slightly each time i close it. Just in case anyone else has this problem try this fix it worked for me.
  4. 240 mile round trip towing a 1.5 ton caravan and averaged 28 mpg cruise set at 60 mph, really pleased. Without towing average around 44 mpg Quartz grey 190 Tdi DSG 4x4 Best tow car i have ever driven.
  5. Probably not but it will smell nice!!
  6. As i understand it the VAG stuff and Quantum are the same, i am sure someone on here could confirm this. I have just bought 5 ltrs on eBay for £15 delivered.
  7. Thanks for that , i am waiting for all the people who say i use cheaper stuff and its all okay etc. At £15 for 5ltrs or £28 for 10 ltrs i don't think its a crazy price to pay so i will probably go with the premium. its not even a night out remember them!!!
  8. Does anyone know what the difference is between VW Quantum screen wash and Quantum premium screen wash. As far as i can tell from descriptions on a well known auction site is the premium has a higher rating for frost protection but the thing that concerns me is the premium states for use with fan jet washer systems where the standard one does not state this. The standard one works out half the price but i don't want to buy if its not suitable. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  9. I am sure i have seen them for sale, but you have to buy all three pedals together and they were around £80-£90 so they must be available on their own somewhere!
  10. Cheers ZacDaMan just swapped it around now on correctly!
  11. I have just had these sports pedals delivered which i ordered on eBay, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GTI-Audi-S-Line-Seat-R-Skoda-RS-Sportpedale-Pedalabdeckung-DSG-RHD/112551532469?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 They cost just £28 incl delivery from Germany which is much cheaper than i have found them elsewhere. They look original equipment with part no.s and fit very well. Fitting fairly straight forward brake pedal easy as remove old one and just clip new one on 10 second job. Accelerator a bit more involved as these go over existing pedal and the rubber is tight. I soaked it in hot water (not boiling) for 10 mins worked the rubber a little and it went on fairly easy, slide one side on hook the opposite top corner rubber on and work into place. Simples, just need to find reasonable priced footrest cover in anyone out there has come across one?
  12. The site is made up of lots of different suppliers so as you say bit of a trawl but hopefully worth it.
  13. I bought those from eBay for around £12, make a big difference little fiddly to fit as the carpet gets in the way but much better look. Probably cost pence to make!
  14. Thanks for the info, i have bought a battery cover and a couple of chrome bits so will see what they are like when they are delivered.👍
  15. Thanks for that, looking to buy a couple of things but before i put my credit card details in just wanted to make sure they are not scammers.
  16. Hi has anyone bought from Aliexpress, are they legit and what are the products like
  17. Just got my Kodiaq 190ps Edition DSG 7 seats Quartz grey after changing from a CX5 which was a good car but the Kodiaq is better, smoother and better put together. Got the electric tow bar and planning to tow the Caravan in 2 weeks time so looking forward to seeing how it compares to the CX5 which was only 150 BHP. Always like Skoda since running a Superb company car 2 years ago then changed to a Peugeot 3008 what a mistake, left that job.
