Thanks for the comments,i was never after daft money and in the end its managed to sell itself,word got out in work i was gettin a new car next week and a young lad out of office offered me 1800 so i took his hand off,i was hopin for 2k which is what it owes after paint work but weve had it 10 months so im happy,,,,The new owner should show up on here soon enough as reckons he is going 4x4 and stage 2..........

........So after looking for couple hours at vrs for sale any priced around £1200- £1800 have between 100-120k miles and scruffy paint interior and wheels and anything for around 850-1200 has done 120-150k+ miles and are far from decent,many of them have been modded with lots of former owners and a fair few with questionable mot history ...whereas this has wanted for nothing all its life and has averaged 5k miles a year and has no mechanical faults i feel its better than any mk1s ive seen for sale up to now....

Its a Hatchback ,no parking sensors,cruise conrol,sunroof,heated seats or nav ,will do some pics when i decide what to do with it.

Thanks for replys....Cam belt and water pump done last year on 70k,wheels really nice no marks,my 70 yr old uncle owned it from new... tyres are good,serviced every year by local vag indy,everything works as it should front discs were advisory on last mot next mot due jan 2021,had the front bumper repainted 2 months ago as was lettin rest of car down due to stonechips couple scuffs... rececnt wishbone trackrod end and wheelalignment no knocks or bangs.........Am unsure about selling We currently have 2 cars but only need 1 car now so was gonna sell both and buy another golf,however at those prices i think id sell the golf diesel and just use the vrs and put some miles on it and change in 12 months.......

Just wondering what my 2005(55) vrs in black with 76000 miles would be worth roughly,1 previous owner(family) very good condition and drives A1....only bad points are small 20p sized rip in side drivers seat and scratch on rear passender door have been quoted 100 to repair........Only asking as am considering a change and the px prices are a laugh.....Any advice appreciated
