1.5 TSI judder and Km display error
I am testing this cold engine pull off every single day, and I have noticed sometimes it works on higher rpms and everything is smooth, no hesitation, but sometimes it is on lower rpms and then if you are not careful it will jump a little bit. Anyways this lasts for about 20-30 seconds. The time it takes to get out of my parking place and open the garage door. After that it is smooth. But I am concerned when the cold weather comes in like below freezing. How the car will react then. But the.most annoying thing are the engine vibrations. I am reading more and more and the issue is from back in 2012-13 with the 2 cyl mode on the 1.4 TSI

But I wasn't informed about that. All of the images I was presented did not show that.

Rear lights
True, but why not go all the way with the light bar. It doesn't make any sense.

Actually there was a UK site that stated that the timing belt should be changed at 999999 miles 😄

1.5 TSI Remap
Yup I was investigating this and there are companies that do tuning of the new 1.5TSI. Stage 1 is around 180BHP Stage 2 is arouns 200BHP (you need to use premium fuel 98 Octanes) Stage 3 well...that is up to you They also can turn off the annoying 2 cyl mode.

1.5TSI - No Timing Belt change interval
Hey folks Couple of days ago I read that the timing belt on the 1.5 TSI shouldn't be changed. As I read, VW worked with Continental? and they have introduced a timing belt that never needs changing. How comfortable are you guys with this? I am definitely not.

Doors (auto-lock feature), Clock and rear fog lights questions
Yup my Alfa Romeo has only one fog light. As for the door lock yeah I think there is no option to turn it off. Maybe it is a safety standard now? Either way I like that option. As for the clock ...yeah...well... UX flaw

Annoying things about the Mk4!
On a SE level the rear lights don't go over the boot. Just the sides. Here is a photo from a dealer. What were they thinking

Rear lights
Here is a photo from my dealer's show room. As you can see even in the showroom the lights on the boot are not lighting up. So Skoda won't care.

Rear lights
Mine are like that as well. Please let me know.

I went today. We went on a test drive. They were constantly logging the parameters and they sent the report to Skoda instantly. So it is a good idea to go and report it. If more and more people report this, the sooner they will fix it. It's like a 15 min thing.

Annoying things about the Mk4!
Update: Went to the dealer. They hooked up the car. We went on a test ride. They logged everything, and they sent the report to Skoda. Of course the 2 cyl vibrations were not that big when a VAG technician was in the car but he said not to worry, he understands, and that they will notify Skoda. They've checked all the other parameters and said everything is fine. They did a visual inspection of something being loose, but everything was fine. So we will see. If other people will report this on the 1.5 TSI, VAG will have to react He also mentioned that they are constantly sending out improvements to Skoda for the new Octavia, things they found out, so Skoda are getting a lot of feedback from the dealers. That is good to hear. Happy motoring everyone.

Annoying things about the Mk4!
Connected Android Auto via USB C to USB C cable. It works great. On Tuesday (22nd Sept) I am taking the car at the dealer for the 2 Cyl vibrations (1.5 TSI ACT) Please note I will report this to Skoda if by chance you experience this they are aware of it

First impressions
1) Currently it is warm here in Macedonia (25*C) in the morning so I don't get kangarooing effect in the morning. I experienced it only once so far. I tried to replicate it and make a video but so far so good. It warms up pretty quick. 2) Do you have vibrations at any gear in 2 Cyl at around 1500-1600 rpm? Like small hum and resonance. I booked the car at the dealer on Tuesday. But looking at all of the comments ... I am not gonna get it fixed. They will try to get of it with "We will report this to Skoda" approach. Not fixing my problem.

1.5 TSI judder and Km display error
I did some experimenting with an cold engine. Yep I agree there is a kangaroo effect. BUT it lasts very short time. Try starting the car, let it idle for 30 seconds and then go. I am kinda worried that when it gets really cold the issue will last longer 😒
