1.6bar of boost..... The other bar is atmosphere, I must of written it wrong clearly, 1.6bar of boost..... Equating to 2.6 absolute.

Yep, absolute pressure. Read the post mate, 1.6 bar of boost. 1 bar of atmospheric, 2.6bar absolute pressure Yep, I think so.

There's no fault codes, but it's very well maintained anyway. Power is nice and smooth, no flat spots, seems good. Really noticeable in the low down and mid range. See what time brings.

Well, figures aren't brilliant.... But the AFR was good throughout. It still made decent power don't get me wrong, but not what was stated. It made 202 bhp and 295Nm on settings 1,2,3 then 4 made 206 297. 5,6and 7 all made 209 and 299. With the box unplugged it made 174 and 237 so a little bit down on stock but a gauge to work from.

Just a little update for you all. TDi tuning are a brand. Not just for diesels. I fitted my box on Friday, immediate difference. Especially low down. It plugs into the supercharger map sensor, and the manifold map sensor. Boost gauge has been monitered on every one of the 7 settings and the most it sees is just under 2.6bar (absolute) so just under 1.6bar boost. So hasn't pushed it too far, performance feels good and nice and linear. On the dyno tonight after work to test all 7 settings for figures, not that I care about numbers, but will be a nice reference. The box claims 221bhp as their figure, we shall see.

An engineer, part of which professional body? Because I can quote all 3 that I'm part of. Quite simply, we're both right, a box does it what it says, a remap does too. No wonder forums and the Internet get a bad name with keyboard talkers like you, I only asked if anyone had any experience. You clearly don't and so do t need to jump on a post and try to prove that you know something.

Also...... How can my opinion be wrong? Its my opinion, that would make me dual personality wouldn't it? And me.. As for sunshine, that's a bit of an insult if I'm honest, annoyed me a little bit, it's like me calling you sales rep because of your car choice. Get back in your box please.

What I should do then.... Is get a map, that increases fuel pressure and boost pressure..... 🤔 🤔 Yep, good argument. More air and more fuel is how we go faster. Back to my original question.... Anyone have any actual experience of a tuning box? Or just my mate, your mate, I know better?

To be fair, they probably do, but I'm no cabbage. I've been a mechanic 20 years and own my own successful garage, I just asked if anyone had fitted one and had any experience of them, I've made my informed decision already, and so far, nobody has said..... Mate, my boost went to 5bar and fuel pressure to 3000bar.... And then bang.... They have all just said custom map is better, which is obvious. But I don't want permanent, I want to be able to take it off when the 17yr old son drives, I want to be able to put it on another twincharged if I so decide, the "map" is still custom written for the CTHE /Cave engine

Yeah I read it, was just a load of cack in my opinion lol. The ecu is always in control, it can never deliver more than VW/Skoda have told it too regardless of inputs.... So obviously the power won't be massive, but still an increase. It can't over fuel or over boost, impossible. It can only reach the maximum set by manufacturer. That's it. I actually can't see a downside to one of the TDi tuning ones other than a custom map being better.... So for plug and play, it's exactly that, plug it in. Play. It does its job. It can't cause the engine to blow itself to bits because the stock ecu can still only deliver its own maximum. Tell me I'm wrong??

Seen, thanks, good video.

Thanks, but how? How are they a bad job? Everything is still controlled by the stock Ecu...

TDi Tuning box
Anyone got any experience of the TDi tuning boxes?? I jumped in feet first and ordered one today which also spurred me on to become a dealer in them, I haven't even experienced one so may of been a bit of a silly move, but just wondered if anyone here has tried one.... The power claims seem reasonable to be fair but I'm always sceptical 🤨

Keeping busy
Everytime I have a slack half hour, the Skoda gets some love. 4 new coil packs, and some sexy (if we like that sort of thing) stickers.

2008 mk2 fabia 1.4tdi refusing to start
I would start with the big relay in the fuse box near your right knee. Not saying this is your problem, but very common failure. I've probably changed 6/7 in the last year or so.

Car keys code
It's not as bad as that, the lost key, can be deleted from the ECU using most diagnostic software.

Official Briskoda Fabia II vRS Register
Registered 29012013 62 plate 2013, CTHE engine 40k miles Black over White over Black ⚫⚪⚫ Couple of little bits I've already done, RNS315 DAB Bluetooth and NAV fitted, de-res exhaust, diverter valve fitted for school boy hissing noises. NGKBKR8EIX plugs. Ballast weights removed from rear bumper bar. Few VCDS tweeks. Coming this weekend, 4 new coil packs, my own breather mod, some really (not so) cool kidney grill colour stickers, and a boost gauge. Left to do during the summer, bit of an oil leak from timing chain cover, 40mm lowering H&R, some ToyoTR1 tyres, fully pollybush kit including camber adjustment, and an awesome fast road alignment set up. Constant jobs..... On the ramp every Friday for a check, and do anything needed.

Please welcome me and tell me I'm cool
Hi everyone, reasonably new Fabia Mk2 VRS owner. Had it 6 months now and love it. Yes it's not perfect, has its typical VAG problems, but bang for buck, it's defo smiles per gallon. I own my own garage in County Durham and I'm a pretty knowledgeable chap 😎😎 Please tell me I'm cool for owning a ⚫⚪⚫ 1.4 car 😂 Look forward to meeting you all 👍🏻👍🏻
