  3. If you press the accelerator normally, or heavy footed, the rpm shoots up and it again reaches 2700 rpm but for a smaller time and upshift. So all the same , except happens quickly. You hear that harsh engine noise. And it can go till 3000 also if you press it hard. I'll make a video tomorrow and post it.
  4. Ok. I got the car back. This is what Skoda told There are no issues in the transmission or engine. Every thing is as expected. They said there is no clutch slippage. Every thing is normal. I'm disappointed.
  5. Hope the clutch slip adjustments does not cause any shudders. 🙂 Any way, i'm asking the service guy and told him about TPI settings. He said he has adjusted and he will be share me the video. Expecting it . Will let you guys know.
  6. Ok. I'm talking to service guys in parallel. Can this "clutch slip" issue be fixed without causing any other side effects ? Or i have to live with it ? @Roottoot As a workaround, i'm using the idea of shifting mode to Manual and upshifting. But if the issue can be fixed, then it is lot better.
  7. @Roottoot And others. Here are the videos. Its worth 1000 words. Please comment. I see sluggishness every time even on moderate ramps with in city. And engine noise beyond 2500 rpm becomes very much louder. Moderate Uphill road: ( Its sluggish) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1J2ERgit9KdLVN14NtzAwivKtPnyLvHtv/view?usp=sharing On flat /horizontal road: ( No issues) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L1U2Va6wATN3VNo8JKItULJ_1VF7_sa8/view?usp=drivesdk
  8. - "I drove up a long slight hill at one point. Where the car would normally be in 6th gear at 50km/h it stayed in 4th for the entire time until it leveled off again." This is relatively better than the problem in 2/3 rd gears. Where the RPM revs up all the way to 2700 with moderate uphill. I'm wondering whether this is deliberately caliberated by Skoda/VW to put less stress on their DSG Gear box, that seems to be the weak link in the whole transmission chain. I wish i'm wrong here. Hope fully they rectify this in my car.
  9. It doesn't. Yes Indian rules were lenient. Diesel Particulate Filter has been introduced now with all BS6 cars. And Adblue stuff. But those cars prices have been increased. So people are preferring petrol and the market is moving towards hybrids/plugin hybrids.
  10. They said they are checking whether engine is generating enough torque. Also inspecting turbo. Also, once, emission control lamp, engine symbol, in cluster had lit. But after I power cycled it went away.
  11. Thanks @Phil-E I have given it to Skoda service center. I will post the their justification here once I get it. Mine is a BS4 , same as Euro 4 car. No DPF in my car anyways. Makes sense, there could be 'n' number of parameters involved in upshifts. Have observed downhill, it uses engine braking.
  12. May be acceleration is measured by accelerometer sensor and till the level is achieved it revs up and hold on to lower gears. Those request levels are mapped onto pedal. But wondering why we tend to upshift a manual car thinking it is appropriate.
  13. Hmm. Ok. Thanks @Wino Its getting involved. Wondering why it needs so much power to climb in moderate uphill with just one person in car. Use to drive manual diesel 1.3 litre engine for couple of decades. Never revved it so hard to climb the hill, even under full load. Need to understand criteria for upshifts clearly. Power (kW) = Torque (N.m) x Speed (RPM) / 9.5488
  14. And fyi, the use case or issue is seen even with only driver in car with no load. And it's with in city limits not very steep up hill road.
  15. Skoda rapid 1.5 diesel model is discontinued in India due to BS6 standards which took into effect from 2020 April. So, Skoda official website doesn't have this model. Sorry, I didn't find any official links.
