Hi Everyone I'm currently in the process of bringing a fairly battered 2008 VRS hatch back to its former (or improved) glory. It's putting out some decent power now but suspension is the next job. Currently feels like a go kart over pot holes but a Cadillac in the corners, and also nearly wheelies whenever I put my foot down, so there's some room for improvement. I'm getting new B4s all around and the Einbach pro kit, plus rarb and alk. Top mounts/bearings and bump stops will be replaced as well, and I was thinking drop links are worth doing too. Couple of initial questions: Do you know if I need to get different drop links due to the lowering springs? Are there any other perishable/wearing parts you'd recommend getting done at the same time? It's definitely not a case of money being no object, but it will be wildly more cost efficient to get everything done together. Many thanks!

Hi guys I have a pre-fl octy 2 petrol Vrs which I bought knackered and I'm slowly bringing back to life. The suspension is worn out and I'm looking for something a bit sportier that can still handle a speed bump. I'm 95% sure I'm going to take the Bilstein B4 / Eibach pro kit route but I'm struggling to find the correct front B4s. Thought I had this problem. Took all the trim out to find a previous owner had already sorted it. So no closer to why my washer nozzle doesn't work.

Axle, really appreciate the response, thank you. I've done a bit more research since posting but your comments are still really helpful. Good shout on the brakes; I could be more specific. Although it seems to stop ok I'd like a bit more of that reassuring nip when you really need to stamp on the anchors not out of choice. It's noticeably missing compared to newer cars. Thanks for the advice. The satnav/ multi media question is the one I'm still struggling with. Lot's of products on eBay, as you say of varying vintage and specs, but no real product reviews. Do you know the top spec manufacturer / device that was available as an original option from the factory?

Hello I've recently acquired a 2008 VRS petrol hatchback. Great car. I'm looking to modernise it a little and give it a bit more oomph. I've found these forums an incredible resource while researching my purchase so thank you everyone (some posts going back a decade). I'm not a mechanic though so please go easy on me. Four main bits I'm looking at initially: Best USB socket solution - what's the cheapest but safest way to get a couple of these sockets in to the cabin? Best satnav/ multi media / parking camera solution - I've seen all sorts of awesome looking touch screen kits on eBay but also a number of reviews citing burnout of a cheap product after 3 months. Who are the suppliers the community trusts? Tuning - Anyone you could recommend doing stage 2 tunes south of Sheffield, north of France, east of Wales and west of Westminster? - seems a shame to have such a capable platform left at stock. Who do you trust to do the work? Brakes - what are the favourite options for improvement in this area that won't break the bank / require significant other modifications? Thank you in advance.
