  1. My wife has come home in a flap saying her car has locked its self at tesco with the key in the ignition is this a normal function ?. The car is a fabia VRS 07 se, ive had it before where ive unlocked the car opened the garage door gone back to the car to find it had locked its self however i would have thought it wasnt posible if the key was in the ignition. Anyone else experianced this, is it normal, can this function be disabled ??? Cheers Colin
  2. Ive noticed my wifes car an 07 Fabia Vrs se 26500k has developed what appears to be a sticking throttle pedal. It doesnt do it all the time but some times the revs stay between 1000-1100 but then if you put your foot behind the pedal you can get the revs to drop. anyone else suffered this or Know of a fix.
  3. My wifes car also a VRS SE number 511 26500k is surfuring from similar a similar problem. Its as if the throttle sticks open slightly and doesnt always return to idle.I notice it when coasting up to traffic lights expecting the revs to drop to idle when dipping the throttle but they stick at around 1000 to 1100 rpm. Ive also found if i put my foot under the pedal and pull the peddal back the revs drop.
  4. The car is still on OEM pads so was wondering what people use as a replacement. My audi TT has unipart pads on and i can go 2 weeks easily without washing the rims and even then theyre not as black.
  5. Hi, im getting really fed up of spending ages cleaning the rims of my wifes 07 limited edition fabia VRS. If she drove dailly for miles id expect loads of dust but she doesnt the cars done 23k and its an 07. So my question is what pads can i fit that will reduce the dust.
  6. I am sure a new sump is not a huge amount of money. For peice of mind i would get a new one. I weld myself and to weld oil contaminated cast ali is a bitch
  7. Wifes 07 SE #511 just turned 19000
  8. Hi its designed to do just what it is doing. when you select reverse and the fan is on, the recirc system is automaticaly sellected. Its so you dont allow fumes to enter the cabin when in reverse . colin
  9. Ok thanks, battery just looks untidy enough to warrant a cover being fitted.
  10. Hi my car, a VRS 07 SE went too the dealler yesterday for a service and just before putting it in the garage i thought i would just check the oil level. I noticed there seems to be a cover missing from the top of the battery or is it me and there was never one there in the first place. anyone got a pic or link to this battery area.
  11. My son has DSG on his octavia and it really is impressive. Ive never been a fan of automatics as they seem to rev too high then change gear. The DSG box has got it just right with seamless shifting, you really have to drive one to really appreceate it.
  12. Hello Garys wife Yes the release bearing is in the pic, its hiding in the top lefthand corner. I dont see a clutch plate though.
  13. I was wandering the same with mine, i have the same cover as the upper picture that magic 62 posted.
  14. Thanks for the link, that really is helpful. I didnt realise the bumper removal was that involved.
