  1. Hi everyone, first some background: I’ve got a 2002 mk1 Fabia 1.4 hatchback, bought in 2017 having had only one careful owner (she had it serviced every year at the dealership), with only 30k miles on it - for £1k. Bargain! I’ve since taken it up to 42k, and it’s pretty much sailed through it’s three MOTs. I’ve been very lucky really. I have however let a few issues build up over a number of months/years, and now I’m wondering whether it’s worth fixing them or to live with them and see what I get for the car (if anything) when it comes to upgrading (maybe sooner rather than later!) I’m hoping you helpful knowledgeable people may be able to help me out. The problem is, I have no knowledge or skills when it comes to fixing stuff on cars! I’d like to learn but I’d also prefer it didn’t occupy all my time until my dying day. Here goes... Issue 1: blower only works on setting 4. From reading on the forum this seems fairly easily solved, and I’ve ordered a new resistor and will have a go at fitting it. Issue 2: the warning buzzer for low fuel and lights left on has ceased functioning, as has the sound telling me the indicators are in operation. I thought this could be the buzzer (?!) on the instrument cluster, then I read talk about it maybe being linked to the interior light and door open function (the interior light turns on in both positions, but stays on when the door is opened and closed. I’ve no idea! But someone suggested new clusters aren’t cheap... Issue 3: it’s central locking but not remote; driver side lock won’t open with key, though sometimes manages to lock it. So I generally have to always walk around to the passenger side to open and lock. It’s not the end of the world, but will be if the passenger side fails and I’m in the middle of nowhere/in a hurry. Is it a case of new barrel? New keys? Reprogramming stuff? Expense?! Issue 4: no sound from any of the speakers. It gradually got worse and worse, now they’re all gone. I’d like to upgrade the stereo to Bluetooth and hands free comms etc, but again, don’t know if it’s worth it in this ageing car. I guess it’s a wiring issue - gotta take the door panels off?! Thanks in advance for any help and advice. I’ve tried looking at the posts, but it’s so easy to get lost in it all, and no idea if it’s in date etc. I’m a fan of figuring stuff out myself but the sheer number of issues caused me to write this lengthy first post 😀 Cheers, Ben
  2. Hi all, glad to be here. I’ve occasionally lurked when trying to figure out some issues with my Fabia Mk1, but finally decided to sign up so as to seek some up to date advice, now that the number of issues has reached a peak! 😆 Cheers, Ben
