Hi Phil, Thanks for your reply, budget it's around 9k si will be looking at an older model say 2015ish, any ideas what mileage is like on skoda's, if I go for say an Octavia with 60 70k on the clock am I likely to come across problems?

Sorry about that, during the week I would only use the car to drive around locally so no more than 50 miles max, at weekends I would be doing around 250 miles mostly motorway driving. Annual mileage of around 10k. Mostly two passengers and a dog. Luggage space would be maybe a small suitcase, camping equipment etc. Also have a road bike so would need to transport this.
