I'm looking at buying a superb. Having read through loads of comments I can't work out what spec to go for. I have no real preference over estate or saloon but it's the engine & gearbox comments that are confusing me. I'd like elegance spec if possible.. I won't be doing massive mileage (probably less than 10k per annum). From what I have read: Diesel - low mileage might cause problems with DPF so better to go for petrol. However, Petrol - TSI Engines known to have issues? Automatic - if the auto box hasn't been maintained well or has been used for towing it may fail (very expensive fix) Manual - best option? A wide variety of BHP options - I don't need a massive engine but are the smallest engines too underpowered for a car of this size? Is there a link to a buyers guide that has been compiled by members on here? Many thanks! PS Budget is 5-7k (GBP)
