Cars been into the dealer today, apparently the boys in the workshop started and let it run 3 times throughout the day and can’t hear any squeak 🤯 so frustrating I’m just going to have to keep an eye on it and take it back if it gets any worse.

Hi did anyone find a sticker to cover this? They really irritate me, but I don’t have the minerals to take them off using the rubbing alcohol just incase it ruins the sunvisor

Thanks for the info and advice, I took it back to the dealer this afternoon they apparently still can’t hear anything out of the ordinary, I mentioned that I’ve heard its a common fault and skoda have tpi out for it, then they admitted they know about the problems with them and so its booked in next week for a mechanic to have a look at it. 🤞🏻 They sort it

Thanks for the reply, I’ve read on other posts that this might be the case. Any ideas if this is a common fault for premature failure of the tensioner the car is only on 34k, from what I can find the belt interval is at around 100k or 5 years Looks like a trip back to the ever so helpful dealer

Hi I bought a 2018 Octavia vrs tdi estate a few weeks back and I noticed a few days ago whilst it was running on my driveway that it’s making a slight squeaking noise which sounds like it’s coming from one of the belts, the noise is pretty constant and doesn’t seem to change when revved and doesn’t go away when the car is up to temp. The cars still under ŠKODA Warranty so I took it to my local dealer today to see what they had to say. They are telling me that it’s normal it may just be a dry belt and they can’t hear anything out of the ordinary but I’m not convinced are they fobbing me off and is there something anyone has come across that’s a common fault with these? Should I take it back or am I just hearing things 🙈😂 IMG_5123.MOV
