  1. Hi @chimaeraThe seat is as low as it can go and I'm the recommended "3 fingers from the roof" high. I'm not overly tall (180-something) but long torso and neck means I'm always sitting tall. Not sure about the spec, it's a manual seat, has side airbag, no heating, no leather. Swapping out the seat is a bit of an extreme measure (as I'm not a mechanic), especially in the current state of things, so the chances of getting that done now are pretty low. @mrgfI don't think there is enough of the poles to extend easily, even if I did it won't help much as they the headrest is protruding too forward for my liking anyway. Ideally I'd like to get a compatable headrest with a "flatter" angle. The bellow pictures should help explain, red is the standard angle of the poles where blue would suit me much more. I've seen such in pics of some VW's but haven't been able to find if they are compatible or not.
  2. Hi mrgf, that would be very bad if I was ever rear-ended. My sholders are above the seat edge, I would litterally snap my neck here :( I'll eventually find a flat headrest that fits
  3. I ended up getting a back pillow, it helps with the slouching problem. Headreast still pokes the bottom of my skull though, just a bit less.
  4. I'd expect it to be a tricky fix @UrbanPanzer, as it's a bendy part. Not saying I'd be successful at fixing it, just might have tried. Good to know there is a way to fix these things to a usable state @J.R.. But this was a good excuse to go to black I put them up for free if they are use to anyone:
  5. Post took longer than expected, and then other things happened as well, but I finally have them mounted! I found the missing clip knocking around in the bumper (had I found it earlier I could have tried to melt it back together with a soldering iron, oh well): I'll throw them both in the for free section if anyone wants them. Left - clip broken, unscrached "glass", Right - 100% functional, has small blue mark (paint transfer from something?). Thanks again for your help @UrbanPanzer.
  6. Oh, I dug up the old ad of the car and pulled the pic. The paperwork says it's a Monte Carlo, but it has none of the black trims/lights that usually come with them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  7. Anyone know of a flat headrest (or adjustable to be flat-ish with the seat) that will fit a Fabia Mk2?
  8. Ordered a black set (not from deutsche-parts though), should have them mounted by next weekend 😁
  9. Thanks @UrbanPanzer, yeah, there is no fixing that clip Mine are both silver, but the black are so much nicer. Thanks for the link, I'll check with local breakers in the morning if I can get the pair for cheap (and quick). The paperwork says it's a Monte Carlo, but not a thing on this car looks like one (silver lights and grill, no black roof, no black trim, no black mirrors), begining to think the previous owner put some work into this car, and not the good kind 😞 Will let you know what I find 👍
  10. Hi all, Looks like the seller pulled a fast one on me. The passenger side foglight almost fell out while driving today, turns out it was just glued in place 🤦‍♂️ Just look at that gunk! That clip is gone and there is probably no fixing it other then ordering a whole new fog light, but is the bumper clip gone too? I cant tell and can't find a good picture of one. That gunk will probably be a pain to clean too 😞 Well, looks like I'm in the market for at least the left fog light. Maybe a pair if anyone has the black ones. Hopefully the bumper doesn't need changing.
  11. Hi @sepulchrave, thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned in the original post, but forgot: I'm handy, but far from a mechanic, and fiddling with airbags is not my idea of fun. Any seat swapping would be outsourced to someone who knows how to handle airbags safely. Is there any model Saab that is a simple swap? My colleague used to drive a Saab (while also being on the tall side), will check with him for size/back support. Do you know if there are any adjustable or flat headrests that fit the factory seat? The forward pointing one that I have just encourages slouching 😞
  12. Hi, I took my Fabia Mk II for a trip over the weekend (6h drive altogether) and my lower back is killing me. I'm the guy that has to look down when sitting in the back seat as the roof is generaly too low for me 😞 I noticed the following: no lumbar support, upper seat pushing against sholders (not too bad, but not great), head rest too low and pushing forward way too much. Driving short distances (up to an hour at once) has been without (significant) issues so far. What are my options for seats? Currently looking at cushions as a short term fix, but would not be against swapping the seat out (airbag and all). The most comfortabale seat I've sat in would be the very flat bench like seat in a '96 Mazda B3000. Everything "sporty" seems to be made for people with a much shorter torso and neck then I have. Thanks
  13. Hi all, I'm Tommy, living in Dublin, recently bought a 2012 1.2 TSI Fabia mk2. I've got a bunch of questions, but also looking forward to meeting new people! Currently have 0 good pictures of the car as it spends way too much time in the garage (and it also rains a bit too, foiling my plans) 😞
