Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before but I have searched and cannot find the info I want. I have the opportunity to purchase some 17ins alloys from a Skoda Karoq, the alloys are 7j x 17 Et45, however the tyres are 215/55/17, will these be OK to use, will they result in contact with anything or speedo error? The tyres fitted have between 4 to 5mm left but my budget at the moment won't allow me to buy the correct sized tyres. My car is a 2008 pre fl elegance and has the standard 16 ins alloys with 205/55/16 tyres Thanks in advance Cheers PaulW

I have just done exactly the same on my 2020 octavia FL, If yours is a FL the grille is not welded in place but is held in by lugs on the bumper, however the bumper does require removal which is quite easy on these 👍

Hi thanks for that, I'll give that a go later, I've been trying to start it like my other older octavia and you just flick it on the starter position and it cranks straight away, I'm glad I asked on here otherwise the dealership would have thought I was a right fool... 🤔🙈😂 You guys were right, seems like it's working the way its supposed to, it just seemed a bit strange compared to my mk2, thanks everyone 👍

Hi and thanks for your reply, if I turn the ignition on and wait for the glow plug light to go out etc and flick the starter it's then when the delay is, you have to hold the key in that position for about 3 secs before the starter cranks over, it seems to do it all the time 🤔

Hi, I have recently purchased a 69 plate skoda octavia 2.0 tdi technolgy and wonder if someone could tell me if the following is normal before I take it to the dealers. When you put the key in the ignition to start it there seems to be about a 3 second delay before the engine cranks over, on my 2008 Octavia which I still own the starter operates immediately when turning the KEY, is this a fault or normal? I've scanned the car with Ross tech and there's no fault codes...

Touch up paint is never a good match to the original paint due to different application methods, you can get it close but never spot on..

Hi, has anyone fitted one of these to a 2008 mk2 Skoda Octavia? I'm after something to fit as a upgrade to the basic stream radio fitted, I'm after something that's plug and play if there any other suggestions? Cheers Paul

Hi, is there a nice kind owner who could measure the diameter of the front and rear emblems, I pick up my new to me 2008 octavia elegance on Monday next week and want to order some from ebay as the originals look a tad tatty, thanks in advance, cheers Paul
