We had a 66 plate L200 pick up truck which was perfect for transporting our hairy mutts without messing up / stinking out the passenger cabin. Unfortunately, the L200 is not cheap to run, and struggles to see 30MPG, so we thought we'd change while it still has some value. We were looking for a car with a good sized boot to accommodate the aforementioned hounds, and narrowed the choice to a Superb estate (2019 SE L 2.0 tdi) or a Volvo V90 (2018). Both were very nice to be in and drive, but the Volvo boot was nowhere near as roomy as the Skoda, and felt like driving a boat. Nothing to do with driving dynamics, but the armrest / console is very high, and you feel really low down, making the car feel bigger than it is. The Skoda felt very nice, the DSG box more responsive than the Volvo geartronic unit.. The deal is now done, so we're just waiting for the car to go through the workshop and have a new windscreen fitted then it'll be coming home. Now looking at boot liners etc. to keep the thing looking good...
