Well, the fuel pressure problem that began in Italy on 16 August '22 and that has cost far too much (my mechanic is good but on this occasion he went down the wrong rabbit hole) Took it to Eddie at CRD Performance, Bolton. Whatever dark-arts diagnostic and repair black magic he weaved has worked! Smooth as silk and goes like a rocket! Thanks to everyone who pitched in! Trenchman

I have a P1065 Fuel Pressure Regulation Discrepancy Fault Code and associated 'into limp mode' problems. This comes at the end of a long saga of a breakdown in Italy ending eventually with a new high pressure fuel pump. My mechanic now reckons that the 'base parameters now need resetting' (his words) and he doesn't have a dedicated VAG scanner to do the job. So can anyone out there recommend a person/garage that has AVAG scanner and could do this for me (Bolton - Bury - Manchester area). Thanks in advance. Trenchman

Thanks for this. I read your thread on this (most helpful) but the thought of knackered injectors is terrifying! Up to a grand + that I haven't got for test and replace! Eeek! 😁

Hi All, I have more 2009 CR TDI 170 4WD woes, so hoping to pick some brains. Original woe turned out to be a buggered high-pressure fuel pump. Pump replaced but then my baby began to fuel weirdly once at motorway cruising speed. Ignition warning light flashes and into limp mode. Turn off/on engine. Light disappears then repeat. Eventually engine warning light comes on. Mechanic checked it as fault code P1065 - Fuel Pressure Discrepancy. I've been told it could be... * Newly fitted fuel pump not set up properly. * EGR Valve * Fuel Pump Regulator and/or filter * Knackered injectors Any/all ideas welcome! Thanks Trenchman

Sorry for delay but have been in hospital with sepsis (I have cancer and I'm very prone to these sort of things) Hallelujah, yes! The lack of output signal was a red herring (due to faulty test equipment) and the problem turned out to be a knackered high-pressure fuel pump. It seems that a faulty fuel sensor caused the pump to overload and fail. Once (expensively) replaced all fell into place and she's running like an absolute sweetheart now.

I've got a 2009 Mk II Superb, 4x4 2.0 diesel (170 PS) and last August (in Italy) it died. I finally got the car repatriated back to UK this week. I'm too ill to do my own repairs but my mechanic is pretty good but we are baffled... 1. No fault codes present 2. Battery (Bosch - less than 1 year old) is dead as a doornail and not holding charge (could be because it has been stood for months?) 3. Mechanic found no signal from crankshaft sensor (engine speed) 4. This has been stripped out and put back together (mechanic was certain this was the problem) 5. Still not starting and still no signal (engine turns over OK) Has anyone come across this before or have any idea how to proceed? Waiting for answers in hope! Rob T aka Trenchman

Hi Warrior. Thanks for the speedy reply. The battery is a Bosch unit with 4 year guarantee and fitted about 8 months ago so I expect it'll check out. Nevertheless, I'll get it checked anyway if only to rule it out. Thanks Trenchman

Hi everyone! Got a great 2009 Superb uthat has been, well, superb. However when using the self-parking function the steering goes dead and heavy and an ESP fault warning flashes up. This has happened twice now out of three times used. I've used the self-parking loads of times (I'm disabled and can't turn my head round very far). Has anyone come actoss this problem or experienced it? Any/all help gratefully received!

Since they gave me a new bulb and fitted it I'd say they've done alright.

Turns out it was a badly fitted bulb that had come loose. Thanks for your help Trenchman

Having never had xenon before I just asked for replacements at Halfords both times + they fitted them.

Hi, Thanks for responding. Can't remember whether it was Halfords or Osram - one bulb went and was replaced and then a few days later the other one went. One was Halfords, the other Osram and I can't remember which one was fitted which side.

Hi All, I wonder if someone can help? The drivers side (RH) xenon headlight bulb is considerably dimmer than the LH on my Skoda Superb Elegance 4x4 170. Both bulbs were replaced about 8 months ago and worked fine. There is no warning light and the headlights both go through their 'dance' as per normal. Any ideas? Best Trenchman
