Looking to buy and hoping for a little help
I just traded in a 2016 1.4 SE Superb with 66,000 on the clock for 6K, the dealer prices are crazy. Congrats on your choice of car, I loved my Superb and would have replaced it with a new model, but prices are now unrealistic. My time with it, apart from an intermittent wiper problem, which no one else has ever had (apparently) was very enjoyable. First question to ask yourself is the mileage you are planning on doing? If only short trips. Petrol all the way, you'll still get over 40mpg. I'd suggest buying an Approved Used Skoda as you get a years warranty (useful if any underlying issues arise 340 days after purchase) and a year of European Breakdown cover. For 15.5k, you could be in a Manual 2021 SE Technology model with 32k on the clock (should have heated leather electric drivers seat), adaptive cruise control, etc etc I'm not a dealer, I just spent a few weeks searching the Skoda website so can identify cars by doing a search where you can specify all sorts of options. Make sure the Cambelt has been serviced (if only 5 years), manuals are pretty bomb proof, DSG, get proof of DSG Servicing. Thanks, I've tried a few different settings and if I can't get it any better after my next long trip I'll try one of those.

Seat help - new car and seats murder my back
I know this is an ol post, but rather than raise another separate thread, wanted to join the conversation. I drove a 2016 Superb for about 8 years and absolutely loved it. Wanted a new (to me), low mileage replacement but could not find one in the right price range. Test drove a Karoq a few weeks ago on a 30 min test drive and loved it, so much so I bought a SEL that had lots of additional factory packs added (+ electric memory seats) and have been loving the experience so far. However this weekend took an extended drive of 2hrs in both directions and my lower back is screaming at me. I've adjusted the lumbar to remove it completely (as I did in the Superb) but it seems like this ergonomically designed seat pushes into my beltline just enough to really be uncomfortable. Any tips on how to make this better or am just going to have to accept that long journeys are not going to be pleasant ?

Goodbye 1.4iv
Awwww, don't be telling me that.... That means that anything sharing the platform will be affected, such as a Mk8 Golf.

Goodbye 1.4iv
Thanks, appreciate the quick response, I'll definitely move towards just the petrol version rather than the iV version

Goodbye 1.4iv
Thanks, it has an 18 month warranty remaining, but I'm seriously considering looking at the 1.5 etec instead. I'd need to move to an EV tarrif to make this work and it all seems too much like hard work. Sounds like if they could have sorted the 12v issue you would have kept it

Goodbye 1.4iv
I was just looking at the 1.4iv (and have a Test Drive on Weds) and then started reading the forums posts. The 12v issue seems to be pretty common. Please tell me you didn't hand the keys back to the RRG Dealer in Oldham (That's where I'm due to take the testdrive)

2023 Superb SE-Technology 1.5 DSG - Advice
Hi, currently in a 2016 1.4 SE Manual 6 Speed Superb and thinking of moving to a 2023 1.5 SE-Tech Superb, but a DSG Model as I like the idea of finally moving to 2 pedal driving. However reading a few topics on here about the DSG box fills me with dread. Should I be aware of any major issues with the box, or the 1.5 powertrain? Thanks

Problems when temps drop below zero with front wipers and stop/start system.
Hi, looking to see if anyone has had the same problem as this. 2016 Skoda Superb Mk 3 1.4 Petrol If the temps drop overnight to below zero, then when I swtich the ignition on I get a Wash/Wipe Error message, followed by a Stop/Start failure message. If I then run the engine for 20 mins to put some heat into it and leave the car for 10 mins, next time I switch on, neither message appears and I can use the wipers and stop start is fine. If the temps haven't dropped below zero, no warning messages either and all ok. Had a new AGM battery fitted by Halfords last Feb (Hint : Don't use Halfords) and after 5 attempts, was assured battery had been coded. Took car for MOT 2 weeks ago to an independent garage and they re-coded again for me. Popped a battery charger onto the batt at the weekend and it showed 12.6v, but gave the batt a winter charge to 14.8v Earliest an electrical engineer can get to me (Sth Manchester) is now in the new year and when speaking to one, he suggested that unless the temp is below zero and error showing, he would find it hard to diagnose. And I can only book 10 days in advance, so am at the mercy of the BBC Weather forecast. Help.

Halfords - Tyres on the Drive - New Battery - Help !
Hi, I went to Halfords as reading previous posts on here, the Halfords battery is a Yuasa with a 5 year warranty and my car was stuck on the drive with no way of starting it. I actively have avoided Halford as they are muppets, but naievely thought how could they **** this up. Latest is they set an appointment to code between 4-6pm. 6.30 get a call of the Mechanic....'what's the problem with the battery'. I mention it needs coding to the car and he states he doesn't have the equipment ! F&*^*ing jokers. I'm off to their Altrincham store to get the f*&*(&rs to code it, or else I'm dumping the car across their Service bays. Advice-----Don't ever use Halfords !!!

I do....but the 'Service due in 13 days' and Total mileage still displays so was hoping the long-term data might be still held on a chip somewhere.

Halfords - Tyres on the Drive - New Battery - Help !
Thanks both, I have phoned Halfords and asked them to send out a Tech to do it tomorrrow, so should only be a couple of 20 mile trips before that is done (if they turn up). The annoying thing is that I spent 5 minutes telling the dude it needed coding and he was adamant it didn't 'having spent 2 years working in a garage'. Oh and Briskoda forum is not to be trusted apparently. Wonder how many other people this 'mechanic' has misled and are driving around at risk of damage to car systems and battery. Even the Halfrauds website mentions the need for it ! Don't worry, I'll be taking this to their Customer Service department

Halfords - Tyres on the Drive - New Battery - Help !
So after waiting in all day Halfords finally appeared to fit my new battery. I'm moving from a EFB to AGM. First problem, it won't fit, as it's longer than the original battery. Eventually he finds a second set of bolts under the hood and fits it. Second problem, I ask him to code the battery to the car. He tells me he has no equipment and does not need it. I turn the car on and a plethora of warning messages appear, such as ACC not working, TPS inoperative. He then moves the wheel full lock left and right a couple of times and the messages have gone and he departs. However in the car, I have noticed that all my long-term data such as MPG has all gone. Is there a risk driving it without a recode and what can I do to get this data back?
